I don't often visit Smynra, but when I do I see they are adding shops and restaurants. We almost drove past this place, but saw the, "open," flag and decided to stop by. This was their brunch hour, and it was rather early. We were seated in a lovely room, and I admired the carefully restored building and the decor. Our waiter was pleasant and came over often to check on us. Brunch was nice. I opted for a burger, although I was tempted by the french toast casserole. In the end I opted for less sugar. One thing of note, it would be great if they put the coffee creamer in a tiny pitcher in lieu of the little plastic containers. That might be a good touch. As of our visit, the world is slowly going on lockdown, so perhaps they do that and were scaling back. All in all, a nice meal with good portions.

Food was not that great especially since it was on the pricier side and place seemed like it was falling apart but I also understand it’s a very old building

LEMON LEAF CAFE - new owner, tasty menu remains, improved small dining rooms We were sad to see the closing of the Lemon Leaf Cafe in Chestertown, MD but learned of its re-opening under new ownership in Smyrna, DE. We took a fieldtrip to do small retail and had lunch at Lemon Leaf. The building is old city charm beautiful and the inside has many small dining rooms downstairs and upstairs. We both ordered the same lunch of a cup of cream of crab soup and a pulled pork bbq sandwich. The soup had an excellent taste but was served lukewarm; the pulled pork was tasty and plentiful on the roll. Lauren, our server was efficient but her personality was as lukewarm as the soup (we miss our server Aubrey from the former location). If you go for dinner, my recommendation is to reserve the upstairs 4 seater table whick looks out at the traffic light at the intersection. Finally, Lemon Leaf is pricey so ownership/management should consider some value-option specials to offer daily.

The service is horrible!I gave it two chances because it is close but I would have to say the food is bad and nothing was right with our food. Sad it could have potential!!

This past Sunday, wife & I did brunch and it was our first time visiting. I ordered crab Benedict and she order bacon & eggs. Very nice presentment and outstanding quality. Ambiance is great and service friendly & timely. I highly recommend.

I have been here a couple times in the past, and found it to be a mediocre restaurant. Met a friend here for lunch today and the cream of crab soup was watery, not thick and creamy. The rueben and fries were just so-so, the thousand island dressing was runny. My friend barely even ate her food. And the place was not busy. I would not recommend.
