The margaritas are only from a dispenser that was flickering power the entire time. They would not make one from scratch, and there was no tequila in them at all. My shrimp was excellent, but the beans and rice on my plate were cold and tasteless. I only ate the shrimp because of this, and the waitress said to me "next time just get the shrimp if you're not going to eat the sides". The chips and salsa were fine. Won't be back.

Very bad place. I don't recommend it to anyone. They take a long time to serve the food and reheated broth. And above all, they serve it cold.

salsa was like tomato paste, service was a little slow considering how empty the restaurant was, tacos weren't made the way listed on the menu, but the al pastor wasn't bad, just fatty, pescado tasted like a frozen fish stick, chicken was a little bland

I don’t know where to even start. Tex-mex is what this restaurant is! Not authentic at all everything was bland and steak was very salty and overcooked. Rice and beans were salty beans were not even cooked. Nachos were stale and the salsa tasted like tomato sauce. First and last time my family and I will be going here.

It took them a long time to bring the food and the consommé was tasteless and tasted like pure water.

Quite Nameless

We saw the mixed reviews and were a little uncertain, but since we had never visited before decided to take a chance. Glad we did, the food was excellent. I got the Chicken Chilango. My wife got the Chorizo Morolean. Both were generously sized, flavorful but not spicy hot. I personally prefer spicy hot but it was good as it was. Next time I think we would get one or the other then fill it out with a taco or two. They had many taco choices but we didn't try any. Most of the menu items were not Tex-Mex although there were a few of those selections available. I left over-full as it was.

Service (Diego) was also attentive, fast, courteous. The place was reasonably busy. A majority of the customers were Hispanic, which for a Mexican restaurant, I take as a good sign.

Ambiance was so-so. A little sparse, has a big Day of the Dead theme going. Unsure if that is the time of the year (approaching October) or not. Nothing wrong with it, just not very interesting.

Overall we liked El Patron a lot. I would suggest ignoring some of the negative reviews & give it a try if you are looking for a little different Mexican offering & a new place to eat. We will definitely be back.

Place is dirty, no one speaks English and food was awful. We should of left when we received our salsa and it was made with marinara sauce. Don’t waste your money here. Entrees were tasteless and definitely not authentic Mexican food.

We waited over 10 minutes for a waiter to come to our table and take our drink order. It wasn't busy at all. My son said the best part about the quesabirrias was the cheese. We also ordered the molcajete and there was hardly any meat on it, the sauce in it wasn't good and it was $$. 1st and last time.

This place is FANTASTIC. I don't know what these people making bad ratings are talking about. They seem like people who just like to complain.

I grew up in California and visit Mexico often, and this is EASILY the best mexican food I have found in Delaware. The place has awesome decor and atmosphere, and the staff is always great.
