I lived on Delaware Ave since the 1970 with my parents. Until I finished School. I Move about two year's ago to Columbia for a great opportunity to work in one of the hospitals. My Dad passed away in April so I came home to take care of a few affairs for my mother. So I decided to go to down the St to Gianni's for some pizza. I had on one of my medical caps, sweat pants and a University of Delaware t-shirt. Because we're liquidating the house. And cleaning up things. When I first walked in , I received very weird looks from the staff. The heavy lady behind the counter kept looking at me and making frowns. So I proceed to the counter to order my Pizza. And she just kept looking at me and and frowning up her face. Then it was a really short spanish guy behind the counter as well , kept looking at me as if I did not belong there. I proceeded with my order. And luckily , the guy behind the counter that took my order was very nice and professional. I did sit down waiting for my order to be completed. But I keep getting stares from the other two. Then a gentleman came out kind of heavy. Now they were other people in the store , but he proceeded to say what is she doing here and the lady said to him , she's waiting on a full size pizza. I then got a call from the hospital , so I started talking to some of the staff for a little bit. Still waiting for my Pizza.The shorter man behind the counter just kept staring at me as if I did not belong there. I've never experienced this behavior in Delaware.I've been here since I was five years old. Is the atmosphere changing for people of color. Because they clearly made it known to me that I should not be ordering food from them or even be in their establishment. Not only that , I paid for my pizza but I left them a nice tip and the tip jar. Like the other. Reviewer said the pizza was greasy not up to good standards. I only gave them a star because I had to give them something. But I would never visit this place again.I work really hard and long hours for my money.And I rather go to an establishment that appreciate it , not judge me on the color of my skin. Don't ever judge your book buy it's cover. You have no idea who is walking into your establishment.Rather someone have on a floral dress , scrubs or sandals. They have no idea who I am , and it's okay. But they just lost a good customer.

Probably the worst pizza i’ve tasted in Wilmington. I mean the pizza had no flavor, crust was doughy, sauce was stale. Also, my gf got a crispy chicken wrap but they gave us a grilled chicken wrap that was also bland. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

When served fresh and by the slice, I think this is as solid a slice you can find in Delaware.
Doubly so for the fact its in the heart of trolley.
At times, the dough can feel a bit spongy, but I think thats a matter of preference
A better sauce would also be nice, its rather bland as a whole pie

Definitely the best pizza in Wilmington. Whenever I am in the area, I make it a point to stop at Gianni's and grab a few sliced or pie. One of the few shops that use fresh mushrooms on their pizza! So much better than robbery canned variety. My favorite pie is pepperoni/mushroom. Another awesome pie is the baked ziti with fresh basil and ricotta. Fantastic!

FOOD POISONING - Have ordered here twice - first time the pizza was super greasy, but was decent. Second time - I requested thin crust and well done, they completely ignored that request - the double kick to the shin was that I got FOOD POISONING. Based on other reviews, the people working here do not practice hygienic food handling. I highly recommend not eating here.

Good eats pizza and salad were tasty. Will definitely be back.
I wish I could give zero stars to this place. Got two slices of cheese pizza, which were reheated by the server without asking, harmless well intentioned mistake. Upon reaching home the pizza slices were like rubber, I ate the first slice which was lots of salt and badly kneaded pizza dough. Couldn’t get myself to finish the second slice, it was saltier than the first slice. Horrible food! Save yourself the trouble.
