I bought a half dozen plus one extra, and it came out to almost $40. I had pretty high expectations since they were brioche donuts, but honestly, they didn’t quite live up to the hype for me. They were way too sweet—I felt like I was getting a sugar rush just trying to finish one! 😅
The donuts are definitely huge, which is a plus, but I was disappointed that there were no tables to sit and eat inside and no restroom available either.

Great donuts, best in the area. They sell out by mid morning every day, go early.
I’ve had fancy donuts in Portland, I’ve had fancy donuts in NYC, but Sleeping Bird takes the cake. The flavors are consistently great, but what really sets them apart is the brioche dough base, has more structure and doesn’t have the stick-to-your-teeth texture like the donuts I’m used to. They aren’t the cheapest donuts ever, but they’re well-sized and actually make a pretty filling breakfast if you’re willing to forgo some nutritional requirements.
