1st time going to this place. Was told to seat ourselves. Took a seat in a booth. Server took our order, brought out our drinks, had to ask for a straw.I informed server I have tomato allergy, ordered bacon cheese burger with no tomato. Silver dollar pancakes, mushroom swiss burger. Waited 45 minutes for our food. Pancakes came out on a dirty plate, My plate was placed in front of me and i said ma'am i have tomato allergy and this has tomatoes. She takes it back comes back a minute later. Replaced my plate and said we removed the tomato. (Thank goodness my allergy only causes me to break out in hives.) Took the bun off and it was covered in mushrooms. What came out was 2 mushroom Swiss bacon burgers with tomato. Which was not my order. So my family ate while I went without. A new burger was cooked in haste no seasoning, high heat, and burnt. Original fries from 1st plate. Asked server for mayonnaise and mustard never got it. Did not get drink refills. $44.00 for 2 burgers that were horrible and 3 silver dollar pancakes on a dirty plate. Our entertainment was hearing another server gossip to a customer about how rude the other customers were a couple days earlier. They wanted togo boxes and a check, when she was on the phone talking to the 911 operator because a customer was having an emergency and was layed out.
Worst experience,

Staff was super nice and made us all feel welcome. My group of four enjoyed an old fashioned meal with what's sadly now old fashioned service.
The chicken cordon bleu sandwich on a pretzel roll was delish!

Mike and Mel's is a family restaurant with a robust menu. Cuisine is designed for a curiously local pallet. I ordered the roast beef platter and was surprised to receive three slices of lunch meat under gravy. 😖 The milkshakes are very good. Not recommended for those with a pallet that desires solid or bold flavor.

Had breakfast here with a group of friends a day after an engagement party. It is a nice little place tucked away in Delaware. The service was good considering we had a big party. Not too many places still have cream chipped which was very good and eggs scrambled just right. I'll go again.

Went here for brunch after my nieces' graduation at a nearby high school and loved it! We almost ordered one of everything, and the server had to remove our centerpiece to fit it all in. Lol! The sweet potato pancakes and corned beef hash were our table's favorite, although the omelets were all delicious, too. My brother insisted on fried scrapple: that's a local delicacy for sure! Friendly service, quick refills on coffee, and lots of locals so it must be the Place to Be!

The food is always terrific, the waitresses are very friendly and the service is quick. The restaurant itself is dated but comfortable.
