Had a gift card issue at local store…I have made no less than 6 calls since April 24th that gets escalated to their gift card department that has COMPLETELY IGNORED me and the customer care departments requests. I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich and they told me 7 minute wait. They were out of soup, out of guava cheesecake, and when I got home I got a grilled chicken sandwich without the potato sticks. Pollo Tropical offers a variety of delicious options, including grilled chicken with 8 different sauces and a perfect yellow rice with vegetables. Many customers appreciate that the chicken is always freshly grilled and tasty, with some noting that the Tropichop bowl is low calorie, low fat, and high in protein—great for those watching their waistline or training. The restaurant's prices are considered good value, making it an attractive choice even in challenging economic times. The staff is friendly and accommodating, with management often praised for running a great crew. The restaurant's wheelchair accessibility is also appreciated by guests.
Customers have mentioned that the food is good, but service can sometimes be inconsistent, requiring orders to be repeated or checked. Some have expressed concerns about the cleanliness of the restaurant, especially in the bathroom area. There are also comments about portions having gotten smaller over the years and flavor not being as impressive as before, with a suggestion to support local businesses that offer better rice, beans, chicken, and plantains for similar prices. Despite these occasional issues, Pollo Tropical remains a popular spot for tasty, authentic Caribbean-inspired cuisine.
