Wakame Japanese and Thai Cuisine

Great fresh food and wonderful staff, highly recommend this place.

My wife and I decided to try Wakame since it's really close from our house. We were extremely delighted of having such fresh sushi rolls prepared in front of us. Our server Sofia made really good recommendations (Moon roll) and gave us a lot of information of how all the lunch specials and appetizers. The sushi chefs were so nice to talk to and they also made some great recommendations. The service, food quality and location are amazing! I'm going to add this restaurant to our date night rotation. Overall, I love this place!

Nasty food no effort no seasoning I’m convinced anyone saying this place is good has never really had good Asian cuisine i’ve ordered sushi here and I’ve ordered their tempura vegetables and Tempura shrimp had no flavor I ordered a side of hibachi noodles they didn’t even bother to add anything that I asked them to add in the noodles they just gave them to me plain very disappointed that I spent money here you know who is worth the drive though sushi Massa in Lakeland

During our tour and judging of the Polk County Parade of Homes, our team stopped off for lunch at Wakame. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. It was easy to order and there are many lunch special items available. I chose the 6 piece sashimi lunch that also came with soup and 6 pieces of California roll. We added Edlemans as a starter too. It was all delicious. The restaurant was clean and inviting as were the rest rooms. I would recommend this place for a yummy meal.

we walked in at 9:10 for a table and were turned away because they closed at 9:30. I understand not wanting to sit people if they come in within 5 minutes to closing but if they’re going to stop taking people the open sign should be off

I have been 3 times and each time not good
I just ordered steak teriyaki MR it was well done. Just sharing my experience

My husband and I just had an early dinner at Wakame Sushi restaurant. I had chicken katsu; my husband had chicken teriyaki. We first had a small salad with a tasty house dressing. Both meals were very good and served with perfectly al dente vegetables and rice. The hostess was very kind and checked on us a couple times. Atmosphere was nice and place was clean.

Tasty food and very well presented, the portions are large for those with a sweet tooth (don't worry, you can put the rest of the food in a box). Excellent service and staff!! They are very kind, attentive. There were ten of us and not everyone spoke English, yet they were still efficient and perfectly understanding! Don't hesitate!!

It's a very nice restaurant in Auburndale area. It's clean and service is quick. We have been here for a few times for lunch. My son really likes the hibachi combo. And I like the sushi.

The food is delicious definitely try the calamari is your appetizer. It has a nice crunch and it’s not dry vegetables are very nice never over cook or undercooked very quiet here and they have every day lunch special 11am to 3pm

This food is bland and the sushi is third rate. Nothing special. Next door at Publix is way fresher and taste better. They must not be doing very well financially, because the quality iss just not there. And it's not cheap.

The best Japanese I've had in a long time. Great service, amazing flavors. The lunch deal was such a good deal for the portions!

This was the 5th or 6th time eating at Wakame. The sushi and hibachi has always been 5+. But the last time we were there, I service was just ok and we waited a long time for food and it wasn’t even busy. I will continue to go there as it is practically around the corner from us, unless service gets worse.

Love our local sushi joint! The rolls are tight and the food is high quality!! We try to come here at least once a week. The staff is extremely friendly and it’s nice and clean inside! The ginza roll is my fave!!
