“Usually very happy driving 45 mins to get the closest to NY style pizza, BUT tonight the kids running the place were goofing off. Michael who made our pizza tonight, crust was very burnt due to not paying attention to the oven. Goofing around, talking to cashier who they were talking about an employee that just left around 4pm Sunday Sept 17th 2023. Very disappointed tonight, we don't come to often due to living a far away distance, pizza and service were terrible. Cashier even goofed on our ticket and put in a ridiculous amnt received for cash. Get it together, guess the owner can't have a day off. Hope to have better pizza in the future. And cut out the nonsense behind the counter.“

“Market 27: A Love Letter to Convenience, Cuisine, and Chaos
Some restaurants aren’t just places to eat—they’re events. They’re where memories are made, diets are broken, and strangers nod at each other over shared plates of fries. Market 27 is one of those rare gems. Half grocery store, half restaurant, and all heart, it’s the kind of spot where you can grab a soda, a sandwich, and an existential crisis over which ice cream flavor to choose—all in one visit.
Upon entering Market 27, you’re greeted by what can only be described as ice cream nirvana. It’s an endless sea of flavors, allegedly 44 strong (though who’s counting?). It’s like a sugary mirage, beckoning you to drop everything and dive into the Mother Lode of frozen delight. But alas, you must first endure the wait for a table, during which time you’ll find yourself wandering through aisles of preserves, snacks, and sodas so obscure they probably only exist in this corner of Florida.
Once seated, the magic of Market 27 really kicks in. The menu is a sprawling epic, the War and Peace of casual dining, offering everything from burgers to quesadillas, pizza to macaroni platters. You could close your eyes and point at random, and odds are you’d land on something worth writing home about. Personally, I like to experiment—always trying something new, but never straying too far from my comfort zone. (I’m adventurous, but not that adventurous.)
What truly elevates Market 27, however, is the atmosphere. This isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a living, breathing community center. I can’t go there without running into someone I know—fellow model airplane enthusiasts, airport buddies, or just random folks from around town. The walls are adorned with eclectic art and TVs that cater to all interests: sports, trivia, and the occasional oddball video that sparks debates over fries.
Then there’s the ice cream bar. Oh, the ice cream bar. It’s not just a dessert station; it’s a social experiment. Families gather, seniors compare pill schedules, and someone inevitably declares, “This solves all the world’s problems!” And maybe it does. Ice cream has that power.
But let’s not forget the staff—the unsung heroes of this culinary circus. The waiters and waitresses at Market 27 are paragons of patience and cheer, even when the line snakes out the door and a toddler decides to reenact The Fast and the Furious between the tables. They remind us that dining out isn’t just about food—it’s about the experience, and these folks deliver it with a smile.
So if you ever find yourself on the border of Polk and Highlands Counties, near Baymont Park and an RV lot, do yourself a favor: stop at Market 27. It’s more than a meal; it’s an adventure. And who knows? You might just find yourself leaving with a full stomach, a new favorite soda, and a renewed sense of small-town charm.
Parking: If no parking if front swing around to the back and you will see plenty of parking
Kid-friendliness: Ice cream make every scream
Wheelchair accessibility: It is one level so you able to get in.“

“Domino's has become my new "go to", when ordering pizza. I used to not be a fan of their pizza growing up but I think the company might have changed something. Maybe their sauce, dough, cheese, whatever it is it turned out amazing. I usually get delivery and Domino's app lets me see my driver in real time. My pizza has never been late sometimes even early. Great, patient, friendly staff that always know how to put a smile on my face. On rare occasions I carry out the restaurant looks well organized and both the front and back of the kitchen is always clean. That's a huge plus for me.“

“Awesome pizza!! Still #1 in my book! Haven't been to this one in years, but stopped by to take a pie home, and was sad to see the dining room is closed now. All that's left of this once well populated hangout for me in high school was a to-go takeout line. Sigh...but, the pizza hut pizza is still the same!!“

“Got Extra large New York style pizza, brownie, and soda. Very filling and really enjoyed the crust on the NY style. Definitely will be ordering again. Staff is also very friendly, especially considering brief power outage due to storm. Thank you.“

“Clean and friendly enough. Little bit of a wait for our order but at least it was correct and hot. Nothing exciting or over the top here. Drivers buzzing in and out the door. An average efficient running Dominos.
Parking: Very busy with all the other shops and delivery drivers zooming in and out
Kid-friendliness: Clean enough and open safe space so my kids weren't running into anyone. They enjoyed signing their name of the wall of fame.“

“I love their oven baked subs and salads, too. The subs are baked like calzones and bread is seasoned just like they season their pizza crust, layers of flavor.
Vegetarian options: Their salads are not skimpy and you can tweak them a bit, take something off or add something more. The pizzas are flavorful and can be vegetarian unless you don't eat cheese. They have onion, pepper choices, mushroom, olives, pineapple, etc.
Parking: This is in a strip mall, there are 3 or 4 rows of parking beyond the curb spaces.“

“I don't believe they can and I don't believe that they want to. Address on my bag was wrong and I received cold pizza like it set out all night it was horrible I spent $25 on one large hamburger mushroom and extra cheese with four wings that came to $25 now I'm 67 years old I live on Social Security and I just threw the pizza out because that's how bad it was. I called them up and told them and then they said they have to rely on doordash well I would think if other people complain which I believe they do you wouldn't use doordash you would hire drivers. I know I'm not the first person to say how bad they are is horrible it's a shame it's downright cruel. no I will not be calling them back no I'm done with hungry Howie's I'll make my own pizza thank you, that was the very first time I called... goodbye hungry Howie's“
