A beautiful dining room with a nice view. My husband had the Wagyu meatloaf which was very good. I had the the diver scallops. While tasty and cooked perfectly, the menu said they came with a lemon butter sauce with capers (piccata sauce). The dish was actually served with a cream sauce and only 3 scallops with no sides. That was disappointing. We pre-ordered the souffle for dessert but the waiter forgot to put in the order. We had to wait 20 minutes for the souffle, however it was excellent.

Service was great. Food was very good but my scallop entree consisted of literally three small scallops on a plate and sauce. That was it ...not even a garnish. Even at the happy hour deal, that was just sad. The “special” of grouper was $70 full price (but happy hour took off 30%) and while tasty, it was overpriced and probably done so to negate the happy hour discount.

Josh the bartender was amazing. Also great deals for happy hour drinks and food. Will definitely be back

We ordered shrimp cocktail which was Excellent. Beet salad overloaded with dressing...just too much and too sweet. Oysters Rockefeller...All bread stuffing, little to no oyster and too rich and oily. Whatever oyster we could find was dried up and we could barely find any spinach. Lamb chop appetizer...not good...the chops might have been past their prime. They didn't smell right...sent it back. Strip steak dry and tasteless. Obviously not prime meat. Sent that back as well. Manager appropriately removed both items from our check but make no apology. So sad. We previously had a wonderful meal there and were excited to return. Enough said.

A true neighborhood gem with views of nearby lake! Great service by team that really has it together. We enjoyed at this visit delicious Caesar salad and very creative take on oysters Rockefeller that had a subtle smoky flavor with fresh spinach and smoky breadcrumbs on top. then Tomahawk porkchop and bone in veal rib chop with great sauces, cooked to perfection. Finished with one of best soufflés we have ever had! Kind and professional servers are very appreciated and hard to find these days.

My husband & I both ordered the steak salad during happy hour (50% off) . We had enjoyed it previous visits to this restaurant. This time we were given 4 small bites of steak that were grisly and basically inedible. There was only one waiter for the entire dining room so we didn't want to bother him. Not sure we will go back.

This is a very casual restaurant and not great for date night. It was recommended to us being new to the area but the steak was over cooked and just not that great. However the waiter was very nice and attentive and the salads were very nice with a lovely presentation.

This is the second time we came to this Chophouse when the weather was beautiful but they refused to serve us outside. We received no notice of this and we were very disappointed again. The veal chop was delicious and so was the soufflé but it is doubtful we will return to this restaurant because of this circumstance. We feel it was also understaffed.

We always ask for Mike when making reservations! His service and charm are great for a fun evening out!

Alain was superb! The osso bucco divine. A wonderful hideaway of a restaurant. We go where the locals go...and this is a place to go.

Service not up to your usual standards, however, the wait staff was crushed so we did understand.

We chose the OFCH based on many very good reviews. It turns out they were spot on in the praise given. The place itself is really nice. The cocktails were generous and well done. We had great raw oysters, my wife had the veal chop and I opted for the pork osso buco. I have to say that they were delicious and perfectly prepared. Our server, Alaine, made the whole experience better. He was friendly, efficient and attentive. We have found yet another gem in SW Florida and we will be returning.

You know that one restaurant you pass a hundred times and think, “That patio looks like the kind of place you'd write a poem about, or at least sip something fancy while contemplating life...”? For us, that place was The Old Florida Chophouse—a lakeside spot so serene it looked like it belonged in a postcard... or a meditation app. Despite years of drive-by admiration, we'd never heard a single soul mention it. No rave reviews, no whispered foodie gossip—just silence. Naturally, we assumed it was either a mirage or a very elaborate decoy. But this week, curiosity (and a craving for steak) won. And wow. Just wow. Our waiter, Alain, deserves his own five-star review—charming, knowledgeable, and smoother than the bourbon glaze on my pork chop. Every dish was flawless, every bite a reminder that sometimes, the best places are the ones no one talks about... because they don't want to share. This hidden gem is no longer hiding from us. We'll be back soon—and often. And if you're reading this: don't sleep on the Old Florida Chophouse. Just don't take our table by the lake.
