The owner of this restaurant has a worker that is very sick and the worker tried to call off and the owner made this person still go to work even though this person is coughing all over the food that he brings you or cooks for you.DO NOT EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD

We went during cigarbox festival. Was extremely busy. Service was slow...they did not plan ahead for the festival I'm assuming, and had more staff on. The simple food we ordered was not fantastic. Shame because we heard rave reviews.

A Tale of Culinary Delight and Service Despair My experience at Bird Rock Taco Shack was a rollercoaster of emotions, marked by the stark contrast between culinary excellence and disheartening service. The vegan tacos served here are undeniably some of the best I've ever savored. The Brussels sprouts with Sriracha and peanuts were an absolute revelation, a dish so divine that it left me speechless. Each of the three tacos I ordered was a delightful journey of flavors. The food alone deserves a standing ovation. However, the service I received was a stark contrast to the high quality of the food. From the moment I placed my order, the treatment by the staff, particularly one individual, was, to put it mildly, disrespectful and bordered on abusive. My attempts at engagement were met with indifference and, at times, outright rudeness. A bottle tossed my way instead of being handed, a snappy retort to my admiration of the dishes, and a lack of basic hospitality checks left a sour taste that even the most flavorful taco couldn't mask. While the food was exceptional and truly some of the best vegan cuisine I've had, the service was a disheartening downfall. Despite the culinary prowess on display, the lack of respect and basic customer service etiquette makes it difficult for me to envision a return visit. It's with a heavy heart that I share this experience, torn between the outstanding vegan offerings and the unfortunate service received. I hope this review serves as constructive feedback for the restaurant to elevate its service to match the quality of its cuisine.

We were here for the Cigar Box Music Festival and it seemed a bit chaotic in the seating area. There wasn't enough staff and they ran out of certain beers and even Pepsi. How does that happen when you know you have an event like this on a Saturday? We ordered the chips and guacamole, which was a mistake. The chips were way too thick and were stale. The guacamole was bland. I am used to garlic and lime in guacamole and this had none.
Music& Tacos .... what else do you need. Oh .... wine ?.... they have that too!!!

Jan 7 2023 was our first visit and it was a solid 4.5 stars. Fast forward to Dec 28 2023 and it’s a 1 star at best when we ordered the same exact food. The place was dirty, the waitress did the bare minimum but more frustrating - was the quality of the food. Short ribs were not short rib meat but something else that was minced with what tasted like oversweet bottled sauce (most likely cooked in the 3-4 insta pots we saw on the way out), the sticky rice in the burrito was dry and crunchy and the lobster nachos had a gloopy amateur cheese sauce, some weird very hot canned enchilada sauce, the chips were old and stale and the little bit of lobster, was low quality frozen something not good. As my 23 year old son said, it was barely edible (he did, I couldn’t). Sad to remove this off our list.

The owner is also the chef, and he is excellent! Also, probably some of the best original music you can hear in Sarasota Bradenton is here at the Taco Shack!
