When we walked was greeted by Steve and Kyle. Very friendly and inviting. We sat inside. The service was good. Kyle was our waiter. The food was very good. I ordered the double smash burger with tomato salita (onions, tomatoes like a salsa with no heat), white cheddar, fried onions on a Brioche bun with fries. It was sooooo good. My hisband had the gulf shrimp and grits with Collard Greens with a side order of cornbread with soft butter. Both of us enjoyed the food. Then we met the owner/cook Dave, his girlfriend Kiera. The whole experience was very good. Then the lice blues mysic just set the right atmosphere. We will be back. Go check them out. Use the menu I uploaded the one on their website is outdated.

Perfect spot for family celebration on Father's Day. Great service and ALL our food was fantastic- thanks Chef Dave!- but the collards were the best I ever had! Had to sit inside- at 1:00 heat with elders- so no live music for us- But the cold A/C and jazzy background music was delightful! Fantastic place to be!!

What an experience! The decor is quirky and charming. The staff is upbeat and attentive. The food is so mouth-watering that for the first time in my life I actually enjoyed grits! A real hidden gem. Don't hesitate to give them a try, ya'll.

Where do I begin, I wanted to love it here because of the music, however, my first time there my friend and I sat there for 45 minutes watching the waiter keep passing us by, we had to go inside to get a drink. Last time the patio wasn’t open and had to sit at a table on the driveway, that wasn’t the worst. There was 4 of us, we all ate, food not so good, definitely not fresh, 3 drinks in, they ran out of each one and had to order something else. In the middle of all of this, the waiter tells us it costs $20 a piece for the band? $80 just for the band and not told until we were done eating? We said no way, I think they pick and choose certain people to ask $20 a piece, it was so random and it felt like a scam. The owner who’s also the cook got very angry with us and showed it because we refused, only because it wasn’t advertised like that. We wondered it the waiter just takes the money? $80 for 4 people just to hear the band after we already ate they tell us . No way ! We were told that the poor owner has been going through a lot to keep the place open and this just helps him 😬😬. The server girl was drunk. We thought the waiter was on something.I believe the owner and the 2 servers are friends of his which is why the owner allows all of this chaos. I’ve been a bartender/server my entire life and this establishment is so chaotic and unprofessional that I can’t believe they get so many good reviews. Maybe not everyone is told they owe $20 a piece when you’re ready for your check

I loved it so much here. My wife and I came here for our date night and loved the food and listening to Biscuit Miller's great blues. My fried chicken and Mac n cheeae was the best I've ever had.

Cottonmouth is the real deal and a unique experience. Food is great. Tastes like home cooked soul food. Menu has some great options. We had the shrimp and grits and the fried chicken/mac and cheese. Both excellent. The tacos are great too. Sometimes the service can be slow, especially when a live act is about to start and everyone orders food at the same time. Be patient with the staff.

Its also one of the few remaining spots in the village of the arts with live music. The back yard is temporarily closed which is a shame because of the great vibe and stage. They get some really solid acts - some shows are ticketed, some are free. The stage is now set up in the driveway which makes it pretty tight but its still a great time and highly recommended. Looking forward to the backyard opening back up. Support live music in the village!!

One of the most rude servers I have ever seen. We sat 45 minutes, she walked past us many times and never so much as acknowledged our existence.

Didnt care for the location, layout, rude service and low quality food. Terrible for live music.
