Takos Cantina Ranch Lake Blvd

Two night in a row this establishment has completely messed up my orders.
Night 1. They forgot tortillas for a fajita meal….
Night 2. They forgot the rice, beans, condiments, as well as another side.
They then called me to say I can COME IN, in person to obtain $10 off my next visit.
Sorry but I won’t ever visit this restaurant again. Business is business, & poor service is poor service. This place deserves 1 star at the present time.

EXCELLENT AUTHENTIC CUISINE. Fernando is an excellent, enthusiastic server. We were hungry. Superb menu, great selections. My “Tres Amigos was very good, although 3 medium shrimps for that price left me wondering. Jalisco equally delicious. The Mexican Pop-Rap music might need to be RE-thought or at least toned down. Not everyone wants to listen to that hyperactive pop. We’ve been here 3x and we’ll go back for sure. When we asked for more chips, the manager made sure we knew they charge for the second bowl. That’s no real smart. She didn’t charge us, but wanted to charge $4 for credit card use. Gives me a little pause when we’re dropping over $30 a head for 3 people.

Many items on the menu that I’d like to have next time. Great for large groups, and reservations can be made. Excellent bar.

Visited Takos on a Saturday night around 5:30pm. We were seated after a couple minutes of waiting, which was nice. We were almost immediately told that the food would take awhile, but the ambiance was very enjoyable. It was PACKED full of people so it was understandable to have to wait. The jalapeño margarita was great, but the Moscow mule tasted more like a mojito. The complimentary chips & salsa were a nice touch. We ordered ceviche for our appetizer, chicken taquitos & burria tacos. It was all very tasty but unfortunately, everything came out at the same time, so we had a hard time finishing our meals + the app. My only complaint would be the taquitos were a bit greasy tasting & the wait times. Otherwise, it’s a pretty solid Mexican restaurant!

I had 5 star review of this restaurant originally but this is the second time they disappointed us. First time they stole our leftovers threw them out and did not credit our meal. Today, it took over 40 minutes for the main entrees to be delivered and the restaurant was not busy. Bye takos Cantina. Will never return back to you again, it’s very disheartening. Don’t know what the hell happened.

Great experience.
From the parking lot at night it looks dark like it might not be open because of the window graphics and the sign not being over the main entrance.
Everyone I interacted with was very friendly and seemed happy to be working there.
Fernando was an excellent server qith a great attitude.
Multiple employees came by and checked on our table multiple times during our meal.
The food was great and if I lived near hear i would deffinateky be back often.

Totally messed up my friends meal requests. Mine was fine, but I didn't change anything from the menu. The FOOD was excellent, and the drink (A blueberry concoction) was absolutely spectacular. It saved the entire experience on its own, by itself. I think next time we need to ask for a native English speaker with a notepad to take proper notes so that when you ask for something with changes, the wait staff should write it down so they don't forget or maybe they didn't understand in the first place. Personally, I wanted to send it all back and have them remake it correctly to the order after talking to a manager and explaining the situation. But, my friend appealed to me for a more tolerant approach, and seeing as it was their food, I really couldn't ask for something they didn't want. However, that was pretty much a downer of an issue, and they could not enjoy most of their meal because of either something being THERE that was asked NOT to be there (NO SAUCE OVER ANYTHING), or something that was asked to be THERE was missing (extra lime wedges). The only thing that made the service two stars was I gave one for my meal being spot on and delicious (again, I had NO changes to mine, so it would be hard to mess that up) and another star for the Blueberry Cocktail having the extra blueberries that were asked for in it and the fact that it was crazy good! EVERYTHING had wonderful flavors. And there will be a second chance to see next time, but I also know what to look for as well. I'm sure it was just a new waiter without a lot of experience. A notepad should be 100% required for all wait staff, I don't care how good they think their memory is. And, I am impressed that the (Owner) replied and even sounded like they genuinely wanted to HELP with the issue, by coaching their staff on how to do an exceptional job (and get even more of a tip next time, again, my friend asked that I tip well even though their meal was all wrong, so, I did - If not for that, I would have left much less to show my disapproval of attention to detail. I would have written what the issue was too on the receipt so it was well documented for everyone to see.

Normally we have a good experience at Takos Cantina, but tonight was absolutely AWFUL! terrible service, super slow, and the music was so loud we had to shout at each other over the table. The restaurant is not set up to have someone playing live music at the extreme high volume that was playing tonight.
Sadly, this may be our last visit. Especially since our bill was over $100 for such a bad experience.
