As expected, service and atmosphere were top shelf. The caprese salad was delicious. Hot food was, in a word, disappointing. My wife had the snapper special and I had the filet Oscar. Her fish was overcooked & dry. My steak, ordered rare, was overcooked and my fingerling potatoes were scorched black/charred on the bottom. Sorry to complain but was disappointing after all the hype, having not been there previously.
No wait with reservations, liked the decor little noisy but it's the holidays food was great service outstanding. Will return. On the pricy side. Overall enjoyable and wonderful experience. Recommend.
The host was lovely and very helpful in making sure we got the table we wanted and he handled giving my credit card to our server Richard who we know from this establishment. Richard always provides excellent service and is wonderful! I was underwhelmed by the food. Compared to other restaurants on the island, I would say it wasn't the best. My steak was just ok and for $58 for a 10oz steak it should have been amazing. One end wasn't as lean as I would have liked. The potatoes and veggies weren't piping hot as I prefer but the server did get me another order which was nice. The salad was good and the dessert was fabulous (brownie with ice cream and a bday candle) and ambience and views from this place are spectacular and lovely. Especially if you are seated for sunset. However when I looked at the fish entrees our friends got and my steak, I wasn't impressed by the size of the fish they got or the presentation. Sorry to say this but I think the food is better downstairs at the Old Captiva House but ask the prices of the specials as they can be high. I also have found bigger portions at a few other places around but not this kind of ambiance.
The Snapper Rockefeller was delicate and delicious as well as the asparagus. The Cesar salad could have used a little more flavoring. My husband had the filet w/ garlic mashed potatoes, carrots and asparagus, all was delicious as well. Topped it with my favorite, cream brûlée, yum, yum!!
The Lobster Rositto and homemade in house Key Lime pie were phenomenal! Everything else was excellent too! Server was amazing! We'll definitely go back! I'm already craving the risotto again!
We had a great dinner and a great server. 1-2 through dinner a huge party came into the bar and totally ruined the ambiance of a beautiful evening. They were so loud we couldn't hear each other at our table. It was a sad ending to a great dinner. Desserts were not great, we took them. To go!!
Great steakhouse! We went to Old Captiva House earlier in the week and I was a little disappointed that they have the same appetizer menu. I think they could afford to change them a little.
Really disappointing, especially considering the premium pricing. The steaks and sides were served at room temperature. I called this out so they whisked away my plate, re-heated and thereby over cooked and dried out my steak, which at $56.00 should have been perfect. And clearly the manager found it very annoying. Also, eventhough I stated in the reservation notes that we were celebrating a birthday, there was no mention whatsoever. Too bad, because the interior and decor are beautiful and the staff tries hard.
Our meals were delicious, the view is incredible and the service was spectacular! We'll be visiting here again on future return trips.
First visit to Crow's Nest. By far the Best food that we have ever had on Captiva! The view, the bar, the table settings, ambience, the food... all 5 stars! We will definitely be back on our next trip to Captiva! ❤️

Food was very good and prepared exactly as ordered. The portions were generous. Each entree comes with a variety of vegetables which you don't often see. We found the wine list limited and our waiter, though friendly, unsure of himself in his ability to pour our glasses (there were six of us). After the first bottle, we took over pouring duties ourselves. We recommend this restaurant if you want more of a fine dining experience in Captiva, but might consider bringing your own wine (corkage currently $45 per bottle).
Absolutely a fantastic meal and service to match . You definitely don't want to miss this place.
Our experience was a bit disappointing with the service. They were clearly understaffed and the bar tender ( we sat at the bar) was waiting tables and working the bar. He forgot to put in our apps and we had to wait way too long for him to fill our drinks again. It's a beautiful atmosphere and the food was very good but the service was disappointing.
Always an exceptional experience. Our waiter was spectacular just as he was the last time we visited. He makes a great old fashioned 👍🏻
Always a perfect dining experience. Staff was attentive and friendly. We were celebrating our anniversary. They normally offer a champagne toast but they noticed that my husband does not drink so they gave us a dessert instead.
