Fantastic food, terrible service experience. I just spent three and a half hours for dinner here, and I'm pretty sure at least an hour and a half of the time there was spent excessively waiting for everything. My friend, who is Puerto Rican, made a reservation here for her birthday, saying it is her new favorite Puerto Rican restaurant. Naturally, I had high hopes for the food since I trust her judgement and the restaurant smelled amazing when I arrived. A few friends and I watched the dishes being brought out from the kitchen, and the mofongo, paella, ceviche (yup) all looked wonderful. So it's not a purely Puerto Rican restaurant, as the "fusion" in the name indicates. But it allows for them to make a Ceviche Mofongo, which was topped with mountains of fresh, plump fish and chock full of well seasoned, expertly mashed green plantain, in a classic wooden mortar and pestle. There was so much in the dish that I took half of it home!We shared the Guacamole & Pork Belly, which was ingeniously topped with crispy pork belly and plenty of pickled red onions, accompanied by crispy taro chips, and the alcapurrias de carne molida. The alcapurrias/fritters had good flavor but an overly crunchy texture that made them not much of a ground beef dish but more of a hard to chew snack. Two thirds of a fritter were left unclaimed by our party.I ordered Croquetas de Churrasco to go, which are different from your typical mashed potato logs. There is actual shredded churrasco in each croqueta, making it much more of a satisfying dish than the snack that croquetas are regarded as. I found it enough in flavor to not need the mayo and ketchup that the croquetas come with.I had a virgin passion fruit mojito to drink, which was sweet on the bottom and needed to be mixed, but it was tart once the sweetness was mixed. It was clear that the drinks are carefully made to order, if you can wait the 30 minutes to get the drink. My friends and I went to the bar to get a drink while we were waiting for the birthday girl to arrive, and it took almost an hour for us to find out that the staff wanted us to be seated at our table for them to bring the drinks later. I ordered a drink with my credit card in my hand, ready to pay for it as soon as it was ready, and I stood with the card in my hand for 20 minutes. I watched one server make 5 other drinks to the point where I could not tell whether the staff remembered my order. When the rest of the party arrived and I hadn't gotten my drink, I asked and was told it would be delivered to our table. I finally got the drink 15 minutes after we were seated. My friends waited over 20 minutes each time they ordered another mojito. It looked like the only drinks that came out in a timely manner were sangria (pre-made) and beer (no taps). We waited well after our appetizer dishes were empty and cleared for our main dishes. When they did finally come out, two friends who had arrived an hour and 40 minutes late got the same Ceviche Mofongo that I ordered, before I did. It was clear the servers had given them my order. I sat eating nothing for 20 more minutes while all of my other friends ate their main dishes. I asked for water, afraid another drink order would take an hour. Our server clearly forgot my request, since she looked like she remembered as soon as my eyes met hers 10 minutes later. Can you count up how much time we wasted waiting for every part of the meal? I can't, but I know that 3.5 hours at a restaurant is excessive, unless you're doing a bottomless brunch or you've rented out the place. It is clear that this place is short staffed and should not have said yes to hosting 12 people in addition to 3 other parties of 2-3 people. The staff did not appear too much to be working with urgency, so that may be one of the reasons for the snail like service. The food is definitely worth a visit, but I encourage you not to make any plans for after coming here. I just hope staffing gets better.

Seen good review for this restaurant so we decide to try last night. Ambiance was nice and live music was a nice touch. However, the waitress had no clue what was on the menu nor any expertise on Puerto Rican cuisine. The mojito, appetizer and the mofongo were terrible.

I never write a review , but would hate for you to go to dinner and leave without eating . They are definitely rewarding reviews . I read the reviews and looked forward to having dinner . The staff was horrible when you ordered from the menu they had to walk back and see if it was available, The cocktails were lemonade instead of mojitos . We often try different restaurants I have never had more horrible food to the point we called the manager , they told us he wasn’t in but that they can call the chef so we did . He did write off from the bill our main course . The food was so so salty we couldn’t swallow it . We later learned that the chef was the owner of the restaurant and I have no words to express the horrible experience.

I had a virgin passion fruit mojito to drink, which was sweet on the bottom and needed to be mixed, but it was tart once the sweetness was mixed. It had plenty of mint leaves to be delightful, though I could have used more carbonation in it. It was clear that the drinks are carefully made to order, if you can wait the 30 minutes to get the drink. I watched one server make 5 other drinks to the point where I could not tell whether the staff remembered my order. It's very clear that the staff is much more comfortable speaking Spanish, so I was always unsure whether my orders were received accurately. I had to repeat "to go" 3 times to our server for the croquetas de churrasco and "virgin" 3 times to another server to make sure the dish wasn't served at the table and my mojito did not have alcohol. When the rest of the party arrived and I hadn't gotten my drink, I asked and was told it would be delivered to our table. I finally got the drink 15 minutes after we were seated. Which brings me to the question, why put bar stools at the (very small) bar if you don't want people sitting there and ordering drinks? My friends waited over 20 minutes each time they ordered another cocktail, mainly mojitos. It looked like the only drinks that came out in a timely manner were sangria (pre-made) and beer (no taps). Let me start off by apologizing that there are no photos! So my husband found this place because of a TikTok video and am I sure glad he did!! We got there around 645pm and were a little shocked that it was empty! But we decided to stay and give it a try and OMG so good that we did!!! We started off with alcapurrias which were delicately thin and tasty, chorizo with fried cheese and some sort of sauce which was spectacular, sorrullitos de maize which reminded me of childhood and bacalitos that were scrumptious!! Main courses, our friends ordered the mofongo with chicken in garlic sauce and I had it with shrimp, my husband had the churrasco and arroz mamposteao. There were no words to be said other than deliciousness! We also had the passion fruit sangria which was absolutely refreshing!! Can't wait to go back!!
