Porter Island Seafood Restaurant

Not a fan. Having dietary limitations, this is not a choice I will repeat. My companions ordered the shrimp lunch plate and the catfish lunch plate and they seemed happy with their selections. I ordered a side salad and new potatoes. The waitress informed me the potatoes were cooked with onions and bacon. Arrival of my food brought a paltry bowl of lettuce with a small wedge of tomato. The potatoes were simply boiled potatoes with nothing more, and frankly tasted awful. As for service, meh. Most obvious was that we were not locals and I felt a strong sense of staring eyes and wondering what we were doing in their place. Beyond the food and the service, their parking is rocky and a bit precarious if you have any mobility or balance concerns. There were certainly many people in the restaurant who seemed content, I however will not return.

Great seafood and other entrees. We love the prime rib on Saturday nights. Fried shrimp and grilled fish are our regular favorites

Worst experience ever. Over priced, over cooked food. 50.00 per person for 7 small fried shrimp, 3 finger sized portion of Mahi Mahi, and a salad that was yellow and white hard pieces of lettuce. Not the first green piece of lettuce in the bowl. Never saw waitresses again after ordering. Someone else brought the crappy food and Noone ever asked,or refilled tea. Lots of flies, food on the floor! Run!!!

My husband and I both got the fried shrimp & Mahi Mahi. We both got 4 shrimp on our plate & a piece of fish that was severely over cooked. For the price we bad, I was expecting way better food.They had a special also there tonight. The waitress did not one time mention the

The waitress had constant problems with getting our order. Correct.she also seemed very disoriented like she was on drugs.
When, confronting the owner.She got hostile and defensive.I will never return.

Did not enjoy the oyster po boy one bit, and the sweet potato fries left much to be desired - soggy and flavorless. Price would have been reasonable for good food, felt extravagant for the poor quality. However, service was amazing - friendly and fast.

Wow!!!! I will Never go to Porter Island Seafood on 4518 Crawfordville Hwy. The owner is very rude and prejudice. Just left there steaming mad! I was wondering why everytime I go there, There is no blacks in the restaurant, ONLY in the kitchen cooking the food. WOW that behooves me!! We're good enough to cook but not to dine in. My sister's pork chop was fried too hard and she told the waiter by the way who also did a horrible service, we sat in their for 15 minutes before ANYONE came to serve us drinks or anything! So when my sister politely told the owner about the pork chop, she loudly said our food is good and if you don't like it there's the door!! In front of Everybody and she's the owner!! I will NEVER step foot in there again!!! PLEASE TAG AND SHARE! @everyone!!!

First time visit. Real disappointed with the small portions relative to the BIG price for the pick two seafood combo. Wife's catfish was a better value.

First time going there food was excellent, but the service absolutely sucked. I am from the old school bad service an attude mean alot to me I want tolerate it.

A very friendly, comfortable place to eat. The food is absolutely delicious and the staff are very friendly.
Porter Island Seafood offers a casual atmosphere where you will find first class food. I had grilled grouper and shrimp and my sister had the grilled stuffed flounder. Both meals were absolutely delicious!
There are specials offered as well.
Kids are welcome.

I've tried a few things off the menu and have never been disappointed. The specials always look good, but i normally get seafood. Always delicious and the cocktail sauce was really good. Staff is always nice and quick. Restaurant is always clean.
