The food here is awesome but im leaving a 1 star review due to the fact that no one ever answers the phone. Ive tried multiple times over the last couple months to call in an order and only had someone pick up for me twice causing me to have to take my buisness elsewhere.

I visited yesterday with a buddy for some lunch. Owners run the place and seem extremely pissed to be there. I witnesses 3 separate folks orders get messed up and the subsequent reactions from the female owner. Anger, lies, throwing things. First customer ordered a chicken sandwich for his son, the woman took it upon herself to add mayo (not on the item description). The guy clearly explained his kid wont eat mayo, she got pissed and exclaimed (its on the menu) its not! She then instructed the cook to “burn the mayo off the chicken patty” and threw bread at the grill. Second customer was my buddy. He decided to not eat the greasy fried sogs cooked in burned off mayo and burger grease and requested 3 more made with the boiled dogs and said he would pay for all 6. They again lied claiming the menu says the chicago dogs are fried. Again it does not. I also ordered a chicago dog and it arrived missing half the ingredients. When i calmly said “hey guys my Chicago dog it missing some ingredients.” The woman nearly yelled at me to hand it over.
The vibe in this place could be awesome. Its got a great diners drive ins and dives vibe. The owners are killing it though, violently.
Cleanliness is lacking, there were several flies in the 10x15 shack during my time inside. I hold a servsafe food service manager certification and I feel a certain way about cooking multiple meats, veggies and chicken all on the same flat top and NEVER scraping it in the 30+ minutes i was there. Literally frying your lunch in the same grease all day long and never scraping the griddle clean.
If you hate you life and your job move on. Serving customers vile food and getting mad at them for realizing you arent serving what they ordered is ridiculous.
My second time in and I wont be back, my buddies been going for 30 years and agreed he wasn’t returning.

Food is amazing. Both the burger & fries are fresh, NOT FROZEN. They make the food in front of your face. The 2 ladies inside were both very kind & great attitudes. Will come back here anyday!

Love this place! ❤️ Simple, delicious food! Leave the worlds problems at the door and step back in time when life was just as simple. Oh and the slaw is ahhhhhmazing! That’s one thing they don’t make in house and get from Ed’s down the road, but who cares! Go, you’ll enjoy it!
