If you are looking for a good stick to your ribs down-home southern cooking made with love, you have got to go to Southern Palate in Dunnellon, Florida. It is a small quaint restaurant where when you walk in, you are welcomed like family. Only open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for lunch, starting at 11 am until the food runs out. We got there around 2 p.m., and some of the sides were very limited. Hubby had the meatloaf with rice that had Oxtail gravy poured over it, heavenly....
As busy as this place is and as loved as the owner is I still think this restaurant is sooooo under rated. If you are out there Guy Fieri, it's SOUTHERN PALATE! Food is incredible.
Excellent food and let me take a plate home for what I didn’t have at lunch. Oh! Beyond excellent, it encompasses the best of the best from NOLA, Big Sip, SC, GE in taste, seasoning,and love. When I hit the lottery will expose more of the world to her love of food and history.
