I stopped in around 8:00 p.m. on a Monday night and had no problem getting a table. It was a beautiful evening, so I chose to sit out on the deck. It wasn't crowded, which made for a really relaxing atmosphere.
I ordered the blackened shrimp and fries. The shrimp were flavorful and cooked well, but I was surprised by how few came with the meal. There were only about eight shrimp, which felt like a pretty skimpy serving. On the other hand, there were more than enough fries. I would have much rather had a few more shrimp and fewer fries.
Overall, it's a nice place with a great setting, but I think the balance of the meal could be improved by serving a little more seafood and a little less potato.
Had a great salad with grilled shrimp. The raspberry vinegarette was creamy and delicious! Played miniature golf with my adult grands after dinner-fun!
Red Pirate Family Grill & Oyster Bar was hands down one of the highlights of our trip! From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the incredible atmosphere. The restaurant is spacious with multiple dining rooms, live music, plenty of TVs, and a fun, welcoming environment that truly makes it perfect for families, couples, or anyone looking for a great night out. The bar area is fantastic as well, making it easy to relax and enjoy the evening.
The service was exceptional. We had several different waitresses checking on us throughout our meal, and they were all incredibly friendly and attentive. We never had to ask for refills or anything else because someone was always making sure we were taken care of. Every staff member we spoke with was genuinely kind and made us feel welcome.
The food absolutely lived up to the experience. I ordered the hamburger steak with rice and mac and cheese, and wow it was cooked perfectly, incredibly flavorful, and one of the best comfort meals I've had in a long time. We also ordered seafood and pasta dishes, and every plate that came to the table was fresh, delicious, and packed with flavor. Everyone left the table happy, full, and already talking about coming back.
To top it all off, don't leave without playing a round of mini golf after dinner! It's such a fun addition and makes for the perfect ending to a great meal.
If you're visiting the area, Red Pirate Family Grill & Oyster Bar is an absolute must-stop. Great food, outstanding service, an amazing atmosphere, and fun for the whole family. We can't wait to come back!
All fried foods were hand battered. Really fresh fish. Wow it was so good

had fun playing mini golf while waiting for my wings. Great time with the fam
Two out three of us had food poisoning within 3 hours of eating dinner there. The handling of money, drinks and limes at the bar was a recipe for contamination. Other than that the service was great and friendly.
Local coming here to let you know how much this restaurant means to my husband and me. Not only great food, live entertainment, but all around great owners and the best staff. They go above and beyond for this community. Supporting our Vets, school children, and locals. We are proud to walk in the door and take a seat on a weekly basis if not more. Well, now I am hungry thinking about the great food. So see you in a few Red Pirate!

We got seated great. We had Waitress take order, great. Order came out except our 8 cluster of crab legs. Told one lady she would check. Told our waitress she said she would check mean time three of us in our group and two children finished eatting and still no crab legs. Told another waitress she went and came back with our crab legs. Usually never a problem but was I was totally shocked.

The flounder sandwich I had was not good the fish on that bun couldn't be legal size . I have had deli meat that was thicker and just overall mid like not good not bad
We were looking for a seafood place on our first night in Carrabelle Beach. The Red Pirate was highly recommended by several we asked and they he menu looked good so we drove over.
It was quite crowded so there was a 30 minute wait. We didn’t mind because there was a lot to explore and plenty of seating outside. There was a mini golf course, a gift shop and two more dining rooms. Both of those had a bar, dimmer lighting and live music plus one had outdoor seating. We didn’t know they had other dining rooms so I told the hostess First Available. We ended up in the family dining room. Not complaining; just informing you that you do have a choice. You can get drinks in there but it doesn’t have the atmosphere of the two bars.
We were seated and ordered a Coke and a Coke Zero. I tasted mine and it had this awful muddy flavor that lingered. I looked at Jenn and she had the same look on her face. I don’t know what was wrong with those drinks but they were so so bad. We told the server and she swapped both for ice tea. Sadly the tea had the same dirty disgusting taste. I don’t know what’s in the water there but it almost made me retch. We didn’t order anything else to drink.
We both ordered appetizers next- I got coconut shrimp and Jenn got the Buffalo Skins, basically loaded tater skins. Both were delicious!!!
The appetizers were generous portions and quite filling. Jenn didn’t want an entree after that but I ordered one - the southern fried chicken sandwich with a loaded baked potato. I should’ve followed Jenn’s lead and skipped the entree. By the time it arrived (which wasn’t an unreasonable wait) I was full, quite thirsty and ready to go. The sandwich looked very good, as did the tater but I couldn’t eat it. I asked for a box and took it all back to our AirBnB. I did nibble to taste the fried chicken and it was quite good. I’m a fried chicken snob and quite picky. It was hot, not too much breading, well seasoned and the fillet was juicy. The only down side was the sauce on it. It was awful! I used a napkin to try to wipe it off. The server did ask me if I wanted it and I said yes (it was listed on the menu with the sandwich). I should’ve asked for it on the side. If you order the chicken sandwich you might consider asking for the special sauce on the side. I’m sure many people like it but for me it ruined the sandwich. I did bring the sandwich and baked tater back and will eat it later if I can. The baked potato looked very good, not too small and very well loaded. I didn’t taste it though so I can’t tell you much about it. They brought the sour cream separately too. Smart! Now I can reheat the tater.
I didn’t try any of the seafood except the coconut shrimp. I have to say it was excellent-large shrimps and a generous portion. I didn’t need the entree at all.
The place seems very popular and I will suggest giving it a try. I didn’t notice anyone else complaining about the drinks so I don’t know how to explain our experience with the Cokes and the tea. Neither of us could drink even one drink of them. I read reviews after we left and one even mentioned the delicious water. Maybe tuck a bottle of Aquafina in your bag or pocket, just in case.

This place is a hidden gem. The seafood (flounder and shrimp) was fresh and cooked perfectly. The choice of different side dishes was nice. And if seafood is not your thing, my daughter tried the burger with fries, and it was also great. Our server was prompt and polite. The prices are very reasonable.
It has a sports bar atmosphere that is family friendly. Next time we’ll stay for a round of mini golf afterwards.

We sat outside and enjoyed the fresh air. Had calamari and bloody Marys. Great way to wind down on a Sunday evening.
