Decided to drive over to the historic district for this mornings coffee and found Amelia Island Coffee! We were all (5 of us) impressed with the coffee and some even said it was a top 5 coffee all time!

A really fun atmosphere with a local feel and our service was great.

There are 4 things that make a place great.
1. People 2. Product 3. Pricing 4. Service This place has all 4 we are regulars here and every time is great. As you can see from the photos we have have a variety of their drinks and they are always spot on. The manager is always willing to accommodate special requests and even VIP clients that we bring to town.

This shop might as well throw a whites only sign on the front door. When my husband and I walked in we were not greeted. We stood at the front of the casing thinking we’d be waited on, but was never greeted. So I thought maybe the line started near the ice cream. Still, not one came to assist me. Instead they were all bunched up at the coffee machine whispering. Then, an employee comes to the area where I am standing to give someone else their order/ looks at me and asks, “have you been helped”… I say no, and she says you order at the front…the same place I stood and waited and was not acknowledged. So, I go to the front and someone says, hello, how are you. I say, well, but noticed she was not speaking to me. She was speaking to the group of white women who’d just walked in. I say, hello, I was not helped yes.
Then she says, how may I help you. I am trying to remain cordial and upbeat. But she is dry, seems annoyed (which is understandable off you don’t like your job or the customer). I ask her if she’d be able to add ice cream into my chair latte.
She says yes, walks away without asking what flavor I’d like puts vanilla and then puts it on the counter. The entire encounter was unnecessary. The baristas should learn how to greet customers…all customers…even the customers that don’t loook like them. They should also learn that private conversations shouldn’t be being had in the midst of busy day. Unfortunately, I have a feeling the owner was the woman who served me my drink, so I don’t think a change will be done. This comment is for anyone who needs to know if they will be treated fairly in this establishment as their white counterparts…and the answer is no.

Espresso was good. They have amazing selection on pastries that are elevated from traditional stale pastries.
