If you know the history of Amelia Island, then you need to stop by Down Under Restaurant to experience their shrimp dishes. The atmosphere and the service was great!
Do not go there! We ordered a lunch sandwich and shrimp (with super small 7 piece shrimp) 2 margaritas for $68!!That’s crazy!! We are driving now traveling and tried calling the restaurant no answer.
Hostess girl wasn’t overly friendly, seemed like we were nothing her but other than that it was great.

The food is often praised for being delicious, especially the shrimp and grits, which could not be improved on, and the hush puppies. The atmosphere, especially outside, is very enjoyable. The oysters are large, sweet, and delicious, and the orange glazed salmon is also highly recommended. Service is friendly and prompt, with attentive staff. The seafood and price are great, and it's a wonderful place for family to meet. It's right on the water, indoors and outdoors seating.
