Love this place. The food is fantastic, especially the spinach artichoke dip and the schnitzel. Great casual atmosphere and wonderful service. The beer is great, too!

We were at Island Craft Beer Festival and I was waiting in line to PURCHASE food and I saw the vendor fill someone’s glass with beer. Again, I was waiting in line to make a purchase. The vendor said the beer was for their PERSONAL use even though I saw him give to someone else. He then quite snarkily told me it was for customers of his restaurant only and he did not recognize me/ of course he did not. We do not live here. As a business owner for more years then this dolt was alive I can tell you that customer service is not the most important thing but the ONLY thing . I should have walked away but I was shocked at his attitude . He and his establishment will never get another nickel from me and anyone else I can influence. So disappointing because as a business owner I try to frequent independent businesses.

We had a great meal. The Weinerschnitzel and Yeagerschnitzel were excellent. The German Potato Salad was spot on and the red cabbage was as good as any we've had in Germany. Dining in the biergarten was a special treat. Nova, our server, was professional from the start and checked on us frequently without being intrusive. We will return for more great German meals.

My wife and I were quite disappointed. We both ordered the sauerbraten and the quality wasn’t good. The cut of the meat was not traditional. I ordered the spaetzle instead of mashed potatoes and was served egg noodles. The only thing I enjoyed was my beer. We traveled about an hour to the restaurant and will not return.

Only had the giant pretzel for an impromptu "snack". My planned dinner had to postponed a couple hours bc I ate THE WHOLE PRETZEL. ? Yummy and comes with three mustards and a generous portion of cheese sauce. All very good!
Next time I visit I'll try an entree; the whole menu looks fantastic.

Of all the different food genres that there are in the world, it seems like German restaurants are scarce and few and far between. Whenever we have an opportunity to experience authentic German cuisine we try to jump at the opportunity. This small little beer garden that is nestled downtown Fernandina is a hidden gem. The atmosphere is fantastic and the decor is perfect for a relaxed Bavarian Style experience. The real attraction however came from the food. The selection on the menu was very authentic as well as having different varieties of authentic German sausages that were locally made. The flavor was wonderful and I loved the idea that they had different types of German mustard including curry. There was also a huge German beer selection all of them imported and all of them authentic. As a result of the import however the prices were just a tad on the Steep side but it is an understandable up charge for the amount of work that this small business has to go through for its craft. I was thoroughly impressed and thoroughly satisfied at the end of my meal and I would recommend this place to anybody as I would dare say it is one of the best German restaurants I have eaten at in a long time. I give the overall experience five stars but I would subtract one star for the service because it seemed like we had to wait for quite a while for the server to notice us, give us our bill, and give us the mustard that they usually give with entrees. Otherwise, that would not prohibit me from coming back here again.

LOVED IT! Such an authentic feeling experience in little Fernandina! The service was phenomenal. All of the gals we interacted with were so kind. Speaking from European travel experience, the selection of beers offered was terrific. The décor and atmosphere transport you to a German bierhalle. Made us nostalgic!!!! The food was awesome. One of the best brats I’ve tasted in a while, and the pretzel was sooooo fluffy! The patio area is so fun and they even have an area with kids games. Loved everything about this visit. Will be back!

If you are wanting delicious German food, Hofbrau Amelia is the place for you! We have chosen to eat there on more than one occasion.
The weiner schnitzel is the best that I’ve ever eaten, along with the red cabbage and mashed potatoes. The pretzel and the charcuterie board are appetizers that are superb.
The restaurant offers a relaxing atmosphere. The outdoor courtyard with a water fountain offers a comfortable, relaxing feel.
This is definitely a place that I recommend for excellent food.
