Indigo is a restaurant that offers a delightful dining experience in historic downtown Fernandina Beach. The food is generally very good, with standout dishes like the duck, salmon, escargot, bacon, and butter cake all receiving high praise. The warm butter cake topped with vanilla ice cream is particularly outstanding. The service is accommodating and welcoming, with servers like Caitlyn being attentive and knowledgeable without being overbearing. Indigo has a cozy atmosphere in an updated single-family house, though seating can be a bit cramped and the noise level may rise when busy. The menu features a variety of dishes, including lobster mac & cheese, sea bass, crab cakes, seared scallops, and flounder, though some portions could be more generous. While they currently do not have a liquor license, the wine selection is fairly decent. Indigo is considered a gem, with food that is said to be better than the previously closed Le Clos and potentially the best on the north side of the island.
