Great food and service! Menu with good variety. Cute ambiance.
We dined for brunch on 3/9/24 and had an absolutely wonderful experience. It was a VERY rainy morning which meant there were no outdoor tables for anyone. There must have 10 people waiting for a table in their reception area at the time of our reservation. In spite of this, the staff remained smiling and cheerful while they delivered a great dining experience. Their hostess worked very hard to communicate the status of everyone’s place in line along with those customers who had made reservations as well, again with a very pleasant demeanor. Now to the food! They have quite possibly the best French Toast I have ever had. The brioche bread was thick and perfectly prepared. My wife had their Caprese omelette and cheese grits which was also just terrific. The wait staff were attentive without overdoing things. Coffee cups never got empty before a refill was offered. One of our group was a tea drinker and she had a teapot of hot water and tea bags seemingly within seconds of ordering. The highlight of the meal came when we mentioned that one of our diners (the lady with the tea) was celebrating her birthday. The owner of the restaurant, a lovely woman, came out and actually gave gifted her the tea service that was on our table! She would not hear of us paying for the set and said she wanted to make a gift of the set. Completely unexpected!! I cannot recommend this restaurant any higher. In spite of a very difficult morning, none of which was their doing, the staff and management made everyone’s morning better!
We love Garden Bistro. It’s a brunch staple for our family. The shrimp & grits are the best! Their mimosa set ups are amazing and bottomless mimosas on Friday are always fun with the girls!

Best place on the island for breakfast, best spaghetti and meatballs on Thursday afternoon from 3-9. Love ❤️ Garden Street Bistro you guys ROCK !!!
Nice, off-the-beaten path small restaurant in an old house. Food was very good, but the morning rum-based cocktail I ordered was a bit weak. They were not on top of their reservations the morning we were there & had to ask 2 couples to move while they were eating in order to accomodate a large party. Seems like they could benefit from more staff.
We 4 women were looking for a place that served breakfast after 11:00 AM!!! This was one of the few places that does!!! Our beverages were delicious! ( beware of the homemade bloody Mary’s: very peppery!!) crab cake omelette was absolutely amazing!! Crevice delicious! French toast yummy!! The most important thing was the server we had. My friend accidentally left a $50.00 cash bill instead of a $5.00 cash bill for a tip!!! We called that Monday afternoon/ evening, closed. Closed Tuesdays. We got a hold of someone on Wednesday morning. We went and discussed the dilemma?? He gave my friend back the $50.00 bill!!! He didn’t have to! We of course had no proof that she overpaid him!! We were impressed!! Thank you! ( she did retip him!!)
Not sure how this place isn’t rated higher. My wife and I travel all the time and breakfast is one of our favorite things to do. We tried several places while in the Fernandina/Amelia Island area and this was hands down the best. Everything was cooked to perfection. The biscuits are to die for, French toast was good, bacon and eggs great. Not only that, but you can tell the staff really cares and the place was so cute. We sat outside and loved the vibe. After breakfast, you’re already in the downtown everywhere so you can take a stroll to the harbor, grab a coffee and then spend some time in the bookstore!

We were at Amelia for our daughter's birthday, with several of her friends and her siblings. She wanted to go here for brunch, which was fine. After getting our drinks ordered, the waitress then took our orders. After getting our orders, she told us there were only two cooks, so it would probably take a while for our food. Not a huge deal, we understood. About 15-20 minutes later, she came back to tell us they didn't have the biscuits for the biscuits & gravy two people ordered. Kind of odd for somewhere that serves breakfast all day, but they ordered something else. After another 15+ minutes, the food started to trickle out a couple at a time. After another 10 minutes, my son still didn't have his. I went to find the waitress to ask about it, and a few minutes later it finally arrived without even an apology. Most everyone was done eating by this time. I asked if the manager would come out, but she never did. No appropriate discount was applied. As we had to return to Georgia, we paid and left.
Was disappointed in the french toast, had very little taste and on the dry side. I think the brioche bread they use need to be a bit thinner. My sister liked the spinach and feta, my husband said the steak omelette was just ok. Another family member had an omelette and said it was good.
What an incredible disappointment. The "famous" French toast was so wet when served the raw egg was still oozing out of it (seriously). Another in our party ordered pancakes; again uncooked in the center. The server didn't seem to care much about being there or about our experience. After waiting 40 minutes for our food and then to be disappointed by its quality made our trip a bust. When we have to go to a chain to get quality food there is a problem.
Another great experience at Garden Street Bistro. The atmosphere, staff, service and great food are super consistent. Just finished brunch outside so we can take our new Pup (they have a beautiful indoor seating area as well). Maria always makes Cooper (and us) feel welcome. Last week we met some friends on Friday Pizza night - our second time for this. Has got to be the best pizza on the Island. Nice selection of beer and wine plus they make inventive cocktails and specialty drinks. We will return often - a favorite place for sure!
Excellent place for family or friends to gather! From mimosas to the absolute best French toast. This place needs to be added to your list of “where to eat” on Amelia Island!
