We made a reservation for dinner, showed up, and the place was closed. We had made the reservation weeks in advance and confirmed by telephone the night before.
Our son purchased a $100 gift certificate to Le Clos for us, and now we are hearing that Le Clos is closed until October, and probably for good. Calls to the owner are going unreturned. How do we get a refund?
The most incredible dining experience from start to finish! I highly recommend getting reservations outside if it’s a nice day. They have a gorgeous garden setting. The waitress we had was phenomenal. We ordered the shrimp cocktail for the appetizer, which had the most delicious cocktail sauce. It was a light and refreshing way to start the meal! We also had the meatloaf, along with the steak and scallops special of the evening. The steak melted in our mouth and the scallops had a delicious lemon sauce over it. They made our wedding anniversary very special. Kudos to the chef!!!! We will be back!
Always my favorite spot in Fernandina, I was relieved to finally be back after countless cancellations for every reason imaginable (Covid, other health, travel-you name it!). Circumstances meant my wife couldn’t make it, but I was in heaven nonetheless. Smiling, very comfortable and knowledgeable service from the young hostess and server, Suzanne, who had a lovely manner. I agonized over whether to have the special baked flounder or the chicken, “Poulet Poulet” ($22). Went with the latter and loved it. Moist and delicious in a lemon caper sauce with string (spiralized?) carrots. I never can pass up good escargot, so I fell for those ($18), wonderfully hot and garlicky, and served with baguette bread, the source of which I NEED to find out (The French Pantry in Jax???). Two generous pours of Calera Pinot Noir ($11.50) and a recent birthday-inspired sundae (Homemade vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce, $10) truly made my day. Coming back-soon!.
Nothing short of perfection! The service was exceptional - courteous, attentive, and prompt. The food was reasonably portioned, tasty, and fresh. The seasonings complemented the natural flavors instead of overwhelming them. The atmosphere is quaint and unique. Nothing cookie cutter about this experience!

It was our first visit to this restaurant and my daughter and I both ordered the Bistro Steak Au Poivre. The presentation was beautiful, the veggies were delicious, but the certified angus beef was disappointing since it was not tender, but chewy. The bread served before dinner was hard and not warmed. Sadly, this entree did not meet our expectations for a top rated restaurant.
My husband and I had the duck, flounder special, creme brûlée and chocolate cake. All if it was fantastic. We are going back again before we leave to go home — that good!
We had an 8 o’clock reservation originally at the restaurant. We were running late and called and they said it would be fine to come at 8:30. When we got there at 8:20, they turned us away and said the kitchen was closing. I told them we were on vacation here and that they ruining our night and they let us turn away and leave anyway. this was a horrible experience going to this restaurant, and being turned away. On a brighter note, we went next-door to Joe’s for an amazing meal. As a sidenote, the website says they are open until 10 o’clock. It is 9:00 PM right now and the restaurant is still open and says closing soon.
This was a spectacular experience. The food was delicious - well prepared, perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented! We had the fish of the day - flounder! The service was on point but not overly so - I don’t like when they hover! It was perfectly overlapped between servers. The patio is definitely the place to be seated, too. If you are on Amelia Island, you should treat yourself to a fabulous dinner here!

This is the finest restuarant on Fernandina on Amelia Island. The food was excellent. The steak au poivre was melt in your mouth delicilous. Everything was fresh and wonderful. The wine list is long and has something for everbody's tastes. The catch of the day flounder was perfect. Prices are extremely reasonable for such fine fare.
This is the best restaurant in Fernandina Beach. All of the food here is very well prepared. For appitisers the vichyssoise and calamari are excellent. For entrees the bistro steak or yellow fin tuna are also excellent. For dessert the creme brule is delicious. The service is professional. Dining here will make you feel as if you were in a bistro in the south of France.
A beautiful experience. There were four of us and all meals were delicious and well prepared. No room for dessert! We wanted to sit in the garden but they said it was filled even though I did ask for that in my reservation. But will return next year anyway.
In a word, our meal at Le Clos last evening was EXQUISITE!!! Thanks to a chance meeting with Sous Chef Josh a few days earlier, we decided that Le Clos would be our choice for a special birthday dinner, and indeed, on every level it was simply outstanding! Our server, Susanna, was so warm and professional; her recommendation for the Caymus “Red Schooner” Meritage was outstanding with our appetizers (escargots and vichyssoise,…amazing)/dinner selections, (duck and flounder,…again,…amazing) and I savored the last and paired it with my chocolate gateaux birthday cake! Just WOW!! If there can be a perfect meal at a perfect fine dining restaurant, Le Clos was it! Thank you to all who made this gastronomic adventure, as I said, EXQUISITE!!
Leclos is an amazing restaurant. From the atmosphere to the service it is top tier. The flounder special is a must as well as the scallops. Our server Mitzi was wonderful and allowed us to taste test multiple wines while holding amazing conversation. I recommend the garden seating as it is so gorgeous. 10/10 recommend and will be back.
