The bistro and tides pool bar are one and the same, just one is outside. The atmosphere is great and comfortable and food is good, at best. There’s not a great entree on their menu. It’s pool bar food, that’s mostly tasteless. The drinks are way overpriced and not always made well, especially the old fashioned. The self proclaimed experts there can’t get that one right. To get coffee, it’s like a lot of the Marriott locations where you have to buy a Starbucks instead of having a coffee pot. There are a lot of other local options within walking distance which in our opinion might be better options. If you’re staying there and hanging out in the pool all day, it’s just fine.

My family stays at this hotel at least once a year. The bar by the pool has great food and drinks for the whole family. Prices are always decent in relation to restaurants in the area and makes for a great post pool time snack before dinner.

I am so excited to write this review. My husband and I came to Amelia Island just for four nights. Since we have never been here it was difficult for us to decide online which hotel to stay in. We wanted one close to the beach and also close to the downtown area. The Springhill suites by Marriott was perfect! It was one block from the beach and a five minute car ride to the historical downtown area. The hotel was two minutes from Central Park where we were able to play pickle ball. This hotel is just a little over one year old and is very very clean. The morning complementary breakfast was very good also. The staff at this hotel is very friendly and accommodating. Don’t be confused… We were! The courtyard Marriott and Springhill suites by Marriott share a really nice pool. The pictures online are correct. I would definitely stay here again?

Pros: great location, good views, friendly staff, comfy bed and couch, very spacious room, good "kitchen" area, great pool, large bathroom and nice shower. Quiet atmosphere, public areas clean and attractive, decent breakfast included in price. Cons: Our room was repeatedly left off their "room tidy" list, even when we had made several requests. Apparently the policy is to wait several days between tidying - is this a thing now? And the room. Who designed this place? The only mirror was the one over the bathroom sink. No full length mirror at all. The door fell off of a cabinet the first time we opened it. No dressers, just 2 small drawers and some shelves. No exhaust fan in the bathroom. Room had a desk with one desk chair, but no coffee table or any other tables or chairs were in the room. So no place to comfortably eat in the room. Also, you were not allowed to bring any food and beverage onto the pool area. Why? They serve their own food on the pool deck so it can't be for cleanliness purposes. Also, the pool bistro staff told us they would be open until 10pm, so we showed up for dinner at 9, but they had closed at 8:30! The room wasn't well-lit except for the bed lamps. All this was not what we expected from a Marriott property.

The best part was the front desk staff! They assigned us one of the only rooms that had a view of the ocean (without trees/buildings in the view). They were very responsive to any requests and so pleasant. The beds were clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, for the size of the hotel, they need more than two elevators down to the main lobby. One is used by housekeeping so we often had to wait awhile. The morning we left, my husband was locked out because he took the luggage to the car and didn't have the room key to get back in. I was trying to get down to the first floor to let him in and the elevator didn't come for 10 minutes so I found another elevator. Ended up in the pool area to cross over to the lobby and couldn't get in the door. Luckily, someone let me in. The breakfast food was fine, but they were always out of coffee (even an hour after breakfast started). The pool area is shared with two hotels so is always very crowded. Would be nice to have a separate 'adult' hot tub since there were several kids splashing around in the one. There were no towels in the pool area. We stayed three nights and were supposed to get housekeeping on the second night (they say housekeeping is every other night). After not getting the room cleaned, the front desk said we only stayed three nights so they were not going to clean the room. They did bring up fresh towels and coffee right away at our request. For the cost and the hotel being a Marriott, plus $15 each night for parking, we were expecting more.

This SpringHill Suites looks to be trying to be a premium hotel at premium prices. They are not making it happen. The elevator security requiring that you use your key card to access room floors stopped working our second day here. Breakfast is medicore at best and the chairs provided in the breakfast area are very uncomfortable. The shower area in the bathroom is dirty and the shower door leaks to the floor. The shower head also has very narrow stinging spray pattern. The pool area is nice except they restrict guests bringing their own drinks to the pool. Just tacky and unfriendly. We visit Fernandina Beach periodically. There are better choices and we likely will not return to this overpriced hotel. Cleaning when it happend wasn't cleaning it was only tidying up. They did empty the trash and refresh the towels but that was about it.

Newer hotel. Bed was comfortable. Only stayed one night. Only 1 elevator works and need room key to use it. Breakfast ran out of food as they were not expecting as many people even though totally booked, including 2 wedding parties. Room was not ready when arrived, then changed rooms but had no keys till 30 minutes later. Manager gave us a complimentary bottle of wine for our problems.

Visited hotel 2 years ago and it was wonderful. Seems to be mismanaged this trip. Brought family of 10 because we love Amelia Island but will not stay here again. Pool heater down. They did not clean our room for a 6 day stay. Talked to front desk and they said to put towels and garbage in hall. Free breakfast was mediocre. Always out of coffee.

My wife and I stayed at this Springhill Suites by Marriott from January 18th – January 20th and while the stay was pleasant, some of their policies were not. First, we were charged $15.00 to park! How else would we be there? This is an add-on which we were not expecting and feel that this policy was not necessary. If Marriott needs the extra money, just add it to the night’s stay as that would not be as noticeable as a gouge for parking. Second, the first morning at the “free” breakfast (maybe that was paid for out of the parking fee) I was singled out of 5-6 other patrons to show my room key in order to eat. While this was embarrassing, I did comply. On the check-out day I inquired at the front desk about this room key policy and wad told the reason was due to prior poaching from a competing hotel. They could not explain why I was targeted for the show of key incident. My suggestion, to Marriott, is to post someone at the entrance to the buffet and check “ALL” who enter or go with a “good faith plan”. This is my first and last stay at any of the Marriott properties which with a little planning and care from management planning could have been avoided.

Ordered a coffee and Breakfast sandwich-bun was hard as a rock and sandwich was essentially tasteless. Coffee was hot though I was charged $1.80 for three pumps of syrup-silliness. Fruit was fresh and the best part. Spent $20 on this!

Gorgeous new hotel! We’re on the Courtyard side with a lovely ocean view. Incredible pool area and grounds. This is a solid choice on Amelia. Easy walk to beach and Salt Life Food Shack. My husband has switched his business travel mostly to Marriott because they have a lot of nice modern properties like this one.

We were there to see friends since we used to be residents of the island and wanted to try this relatively new hotel. It is a bright, cheerful with efficient, welcoming personnel and very reasonably priced (we were there off season). The room, which is quite spacious, is a small suite with a living room area, a desk and a king size bed has a modern and bright bathroom. The breakfast is downstairs and includes a hot buffet and continental breakfast as well, with everything from scrambled eggs and waffles to fruits, oatmeal, yogurt and non dairy milk. We had dinner twice, at the other side of the lobby which is a Marriott Courtyard (the two hotels share most amenities such as the beautiful pool but not breakfast, only included at the Springhill Hotel) and that was also nice. After the weekend crowd, most guests remaining were there for business or a special occasion and having the possibility to have a “restaurant meal” such as grilled shrimps and other Island staple was a plus. The parking is $15 a day extra, which was a bit of a surprise but not a deal breaker. parking but15 a day, the Very l comfortable suite, modern, clean, spacious.

We enjoyed staying here, everything seemed new and clean. We also enjoyed the bar and food around the pool area! Great tacos and drinks! Hotels are all pricey right now but other than that this place is recommended!

Great hotel. Perfect location. Great staff too. Deena Raysor the front desk manager was so helpful when we wanted to extend our stay. Also, Andreana Jeffcoat the Asst. General Manager helped too. We loved it so much we did not want to leave. Thanks and we will be back !!
