Funky Pelican is a great local, beach spot with a nice ocean view. The food is excellent, good, and nice and fresh. Meals like the tacos, grouper sandwich, fish and chips, jerk shrimp with pineapple salsa, and Funked Up Mary’s are wonderful, amazing, and yummy. The clam chowder and key lime pie are also very good. Service is generally good and fantastic, with attentive and kind staff. The outside patio offers a spectacular view, even allowing guests to watch dolphins. However, the pier is under construction and acoustics could be better, as noise from loud guests or construction can sometimes prevent conversation. There can be an occasional service snafu, but staff are accommodating.
