Visiting Fort Lauderdale from Southern California, we were craving Mexican food and decided to try Casa Monarca for a late lunch/early dinner. We’re so glad we chose this place.
We started with the bean and cheese appetizer, which was delicious with their homemade chips. The salsas were also very good—fresh, flavorful, and a great start to the meal. For our main dish, we ordered the Molcajete, and it was honestly the best I’ve ever had. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, and the portion was generous. I had La Jefa Margarita…great for the ladies.
The decor is warm and inviting, the music added a fun and lively vibe, and our server, Nicolas, was wonderful—attentive, friendly, and helpful with recommendations.
I highly recommend stopping by Casa Monarca if you’re in Fort Lauderdale and in the mood for great Mexican food.

I'm visiting the area and was looking forward to trying this place based on the reviews. Unfortunately, my takeout experience was incredibly disappointing.
I ordered the birria taco salad and made two simple requests: no onions and no beans. The order arrived with both. Picking out onions and beans from a taco salad is nearly impossible - they get mixed into everything. It basically ruined the entire dish.
I also paid extra for their spicy salsa that everyone raves about, and they forgot to include it.
This was on a Friday night when they weren't even busy, so there's no excuse for not reading the order correctly. For $20 an entree, the bare minimum service is read the notes on an order.
And here's the worst part: we found a piece of plastic in the taco salad. This is a serious food safety issue that goes beyond just getting an order wrong. It's completely unacceptable and frankly concerning about their kitchen standards.
Very disappointed and won't be returning. There are too many other great Mexican restaurants in the area that actually pay attention to their customers' requests and maintain basic food safety standards.

Legit Mexican food and great prices, the place in clean, neat and modern, they had a mariachi band there singing on Friday night.. Oh and if its your birthday the place turns into a frigging night club, the lights go out and all of a sudden this scanner light in the center of the room on the ceiling comes on and it shines a beam of light that just goes crazy all over the place and some dude comes over the speaker system and announces you and your 🎂 birthday, but wait thats not all, the crew c9mes out clapping and singing to your table creating the entire focus on you and they make the whole restaurant sing happy birthday to you, In spanish 🤣🤣 Absolutely embarrassing you to the core🤣🤣🤣 So AWESOME 👌 👏 👍

Fantastic atmosphere and really great food. I love the creativity of the drinks.
I had the Mexican salad, and it was fantastic with beef. The fajitas are perfectly seasoned. Tortilla soup was broth based and had a lot a vegetables in it, which was nice. The only thing lacking for the soup is I wished it had avocado on top.

We (a party of five) have been coming to this restaurant for a while now, best Mexican place in South Florida
They are consistent with the quality and flavor of the food, same with regular margaritas, consistency is very difficult to find in restaurants nowadays.
Sauce and chips, guacamole, beef fajitas, everything is delicious, on top of that, service is excellent, Sandra is always taken care of us,
She is nice, great server, she even remembers all the food we order including desserts every time we go.
We strongly recommend this place to anyone who likes Mexican food.
Felipe is very good too.
