Was excited to try a new bar so I stopped in for a drink, I was greeted by a girl and told her what I wanted to drink. Waited like 10 mins and she forgot about my drink. Since she was busy talking to a friend I just left. Its not even that busy. 💀

Genuinely what is wrong these bartenders. Seems very rude and just not welcoming at all. Never would come here again and don’t recommend coming here.

I used to love visiting Kavasutra for the welcoming vibes, vibrant community, and the sense of connection I built with other patrons. Unfortunately, recent management changes have significantly diminished my experience, the atmosphere, and quality of drinks being served. All of these changes have been quite disappointing, but most of all greedy. They have raised prices across the board, charging for basic things like creamer, syrups, cup holders, and extra cups- each costing an extra $1-$2. They use to serve soda from cans, now it’s flat soda from a 2 liter bottle that’s been sitting for however long. Speaking of sitting for a very long time, they’ve served spoiled kava multiple times, either insisting that’s how it tastes or it was just made. I think the most troubling and concerning thing is: they do not pay their employees overtime, each location operates under a different LLCs to avoid overtime pay. To top it off, they take a percentage of tips that the employees earn from card transactions. Businesses are allowed to do this only whatever the fee the credit card company charges the business, kavasutra is taking over 10% out of the tips earned from card transactions. (The most banks or credit card companies charge businesses in card processing fees is 3.5%)
All of these changes have transformed what was once a community-focused, welcoming spot into a place that feels more like a profit-driven cash grab, overzealous greed, and moral corruption. I am not coming here anymore, this place no longer aligns with the values of integrity and community I once appreciated.
Edit: two drinks, and sugar free syrup have been removed from the menu since posting this. The reviews are being suppressed either by the algorithm or by the business. It is quite embarrassing to get this many bad reviews back to back all with the same complaints and issues.
Edit 2: hiding reviews won’t change how TERRIBLE this management is. I’ll keep updating this every single time. I do NOT STAND for greed and employer abuse.
The ambient is great, te kava is incredible, the attention A1 and the music awesome

I’ve been coming here for the past couple weeks and it’s by far the best kava bar I’ve been to. Dom and Adri are the absolute best and make my experience 100% positive every time. Appreciate yall.

I’ve been coming here for over 4 years and have always respected this place and the people who work here. But today I had a very disappointing experience. My drink was not filled properly—nowhere near the usual amount—and this wasn’t even on a 2-for-1 day. I’ve noticed lately that the quality and consistency have dropped, and there’s always pressure to buy more and more, even though the drink itself is already strong.
What concerns me even more is the behavior of some clients and new staff. People like Erick sometimes act as if this is just a casual coffee shop, showing disrespect for the actual purpose of this space. I’ve been a loyal client for years, and I’m not going to stay silent when disrespect or discrimination happens.
I’m sharing this as someone who truly appreciates this place and hopes things improve. But if this continues, it could lead to more serious legal concerns in the future. Respect, consistency, and accountability are non-negotiable.

I rarely leave reviews, but I’m really shocked by the kavatender. My friend had made it there before me and they’ve never tried kratom or kava. He told the kavatender this and was given the STRONGEST and most expensive drink on the menu - it specifically says on the menu that it’s the strongest they have. He had no idea until my friend mentioned to me that he was sampling kratom/kava and the kavatender told him no, he got the ‘boom’ drink or whatever it’s called. So inappropriate on so many levels.
This is my favorite place ever, not only because of the product but the bartenders really make this place even better!!! Such a great environment and music.
Sophie's the best kavatender
