O-B House - Fort Lauderdale

This was a very strange experience and hard to imagine this place went from what it used to be to what it is now. It felt like an operation that was trying to figure how to operate during the first month of covid.

It is 100% outdoor seating with an individual umbrella over each table, no fans at all. The whole inside was converted to a working kitchen. What used to be the dining room looked like a disorganized storage space.

The “servers” explain you order online. Once ordered you also pay and apply tip. The food comes out in to go containers inside a wire basket with plates, so you have to unwrap the food and then arrange it on the plate. So now the table has trash on it while eating. Unfortunately the quality was no where near what it used to be. Everything felt so thrown together.

The staff inside the restaurant appeared bothered when I went to use the bathroom. I had to explain where I was going and was told “you can use it real quick.” A gentleman sitting on a chair using a computer with a child rolling on the ground playing with toys rolled his eyes at me.

Outside was a portable bathroom with a sign on it saying please do not poop.

When I asked the server where do people eat when it rains, he said “the umbrellas are water proof.” So you sit under a 5 foot wide umbrella while it’s raining on what is basically a dirt parking lot all around you?

Surprisingly it was not new ownership. I recognized the same owner from when it used to be great.

Please do not go here, there are so many other hard working restaurants in the area the do everything they possibly can to ensure an enjoyable experience for their guests.

Don't get me wrong, their food is really good. But that doesn't excuse poor service which is really what matters. Each time I go or bring others to try the place, the staff is very pretentious. They're not attentive and really just lounge since they don't have to earn their tips. Today was the last straw. Apparently they don't do carry out on weekends, yet there is no disclaimer online to notify anyone. They also NEVER answer their phone. It's just a pre-recorded message and that also does not mention anything about no carry out on weekends. For their message to be so long, I can't imagine how hard it is to take 2 seconds to mention that. I tried calling 5 times and even left a message. Could have saved me 45 minutes of my day if I knew ahead of time. Overall I believe the organization just feels invincible because they know their food is good. Well, Chipotle was a regular for me and look at them now. Humble yourselves and self-assess where you have room to improve.Edit: omg I just noticed you all replied haha. Just shows how easy it was to forget this place. I would imagine a take out option would be a compliment to your business and the demand of your food. My issue never was never not having take out. Maybe try reading the entire post before responding. But From reading other reviews, it's clear you have a sort of racist tone and your superiority complex is one of those old habits die hard situations. So there's nothing else to be said. ✌️

Food and staff are top notch! We’ve been here a few times and every time we’re greeted by a cheerful friendly host. They have both indoor and outdoor seating; both are amazing. The fresh biscuits are superb; mouth watering just thinking about it. The cheese grits, the eggs, the biscuit sandwich..everything was on point! If you’re looking for a breakfast spot with great vibes, stellar service, and phenomenal food definitely give this spot a try; you won’t be disappointed.

Ever since moving from New York in 2018, OB House has been my go-to breakfast spot. Love the food here. Seasoned well, great variety and pleasing to the palette. Staff is always friendly and welcoming. You won’t be disappointed.

We enjoyed an excellent breakfast with exceptional service from Amanda. They have patio seating or inside seating. The pancakes are like actual personal sized cakes, delicious. The omlets were delicious and hot, so was the coffee. Very clean, including the bathrooms. It's a bit pricey but well worth the experience.

The host was very nice but our server was like a deer in headlights. I ordered the meatloaf to find out they didn’t have meatloaf 15 minutes later. So, I ordered the burger. It came out absolutely hammered, over done, not juicy on giant pieces of bread. The corn blueberry pancake was good. Service is really slow here so plan on waiting at least 30 minutes for your food to come out.

Just went here for the first time and it was a great experience. Breakfast was unique and delicious and the waitress was friendly and made some suggestions that were right on. We will definitely visit this cool place every time we are in Ft Lauderdale from now on!

First, the host set us up for a super positive experience. He was lovely. The food was reasonably priced for being in Fort Lauderdale and had excellent flavor. The staff was amazing and friendly, including our lovely waitress Bianca.

Stopped by with hopes of something tasty while in town for the Bills Game and I will say Chef Gerry served up an amazing chicken salad and blueberry corn baked pancake, to-die-for. Ask for Ryan, for great service too!! Highly recommend!
