The only thing I like about this place is that we can dock our boat there to dine. I’ve been there 2 times cause I really wanted to like the food but no go for me. I specifically asked the server if the roast chicken was spicy. She said no. But then I got the chicken with curry sauce on it. She really needs to know her menu.

This was our first and last visit for food here. Overpriced subpar food. Small servings huge price. My shrimp was old and tough. Very disappointing.

Had dinner on the water with the family & it was a great experience. The lobster rolls are to die for. All the food & drinks were well above average. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Loved the live acoustic music, really made it a fun atmosphere. My kids also fell in love with Gloria the cat. This is my favorite spot on Fort Myers Beach. See ya next year Doc.

My husband took our moms & me out for an early Mothers Day lunch today while my mom is visiting from out-of-state … but sadly, we experienced the worst service at Doc Fords vs. any other restaurant we’ve been to in SWFL in >2 years. It was our first time at Doc Ford’s, and it wasn’t crazy busy, yet we had an excessive wait to be greeted by waitress & have drink orders taken, then issues with our drinks, our one appetizer that took 30 mins to come out, and 3 of 4 shrimp entrees had overly-tough/rubbery shrimp. The table of 5 beside us — which was seated AFTER us — had beverages & apps well before us … with the same waitress.By the time the manager came over seeking feedback/concerns & offering to replace my entree, the others in our group were almost finished eating, and I didn’t want to wait an unknown amount of time for a replacement, so I declined b/c I thought he was taking it off our bill (he didn’t; it was overly spicy despite not being advertised as such and every bit of other food I tried just reactivated the burn on my tongue from the shrimp).I didn’t even get to share the issue with the drinks with him, or perhaps he might have shown more concern. Unfortunately, being diabetic, I wasn’t feeling well from not eating due to the wait for food, and I wasn’t thinking clearly. It was just a very disappointing experience & we had no reason or enticement by the staff to give Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grille another try so I guess we won’t (we do live in the area).Overall, I had reasonable expectations of good service & food, based on friends’ feedback & experiences, but sadly, I’ve had better customer service at a gas station.

Mary waited on us on the upstairs covered deck and took very good care of us for dinner. The shrimp was delicious as always. We start night 1 here and the last night of our trip here. Thank you!

Our Yucatan shrimp was amazing. That sauce is just so delicious. Full of garlic and fresh cilantro, chilies not too hot.Our server Heather was friendly and very obliging. Will definitely return again.

Tyler, our server, was terrific! Flatbread, fish tacos, grouper, shrimp, nice variety for our group, and we all joined the clean plate club! Key lime pie and chocolate chip brulee topped it off. Definitely a favorite!!

We were here in the Bra in the evening to have a cocktail. The prices are very reasonable, on average around 10 USD. Cocktails tasted very good. The ambience of sitting by the water is great. There was live music playing in the background. The bartender was very nice and made us cocktails that weren't on the menu. We didn't eat anything but at the neighboring tables it looked very long and I can only highly recommend it. You don't have to eat there, you can just sit at the bar and have a drink.

A Southwest Florida modern classic with menu items and names based on the iconic book series. You will not be disappointed with the views, food, or service.

Went twice the same week, the macadamia crusted grouper was perfect, roasted chicken, and coconut rice with shrimp delicious. It gets crowded quickly( it is best to wait outside, there is no space by the hostess area )and does not accept reservations. Handicapped parking is limited and has a very accessible ramp. The ladies' bathroom at the restaurant level only has 2 stalls, and it was clean.
