Hopeful but disappointed...
I had stopped by a friends work the other day. He has purchased some bagels for his team. He offered me one which I gladly accepted since I"m still on the hunt for a really good bagel here in Fort Myers. It was toasted well, with a fair amount of cream cheese. I was pleasantly surprised how good it was. I thought to myself "I may have found my new bagel place." I committed to go visit the shop and see for myself.
I finally had some time to do that today. Since they only offer three types of bagels (Plain, Asiago, and Everything), I chose a toasted asiago bagel with cream cheese. I was okay with the bagel being about $2.25 but thought $1.75 to add cream cheese was a bit much.
As I waited around for my bagel, I saw those who were staying got their donuts in a nice paper lined basket. The young lady who took my order didn't ask me if I wanted my order to stay or go so what I got was a bagel that was wrapped up like a breakfast sandwich.
When I opened it up there was barely enough cream cheese for one half of a bagel. The bagel tasted like it had been around for at least one or more days and not made fresh that morning. It was warm enough to melt the cream cheese but nothing like what I would consider when requesting a toasted bagel. The bagel still tasted doughy which made me wonder if it had been cooked enough in the first place. I ate half and threw the rest away.
This was an extremely disappointing experience. Maybe I haven't found a new bagel place. I'll give these guys one more shot but it will be highly unlikely after that if my next round doesn't go well.

love your donuts, hate that you're closed.
Divine donuts is properly named. We have always enjoyed our experience. Four of us have been at various donut stores looking for apple fritters. Bennett's was our go to place but once they closed Divine Donuts is our new one. If you don't like fritters the variety of donuts will knock your socks off
