Salty Popas is one of our favorite restaurants and was on our regular rotation for dinner as we are full time residents. The food is excellent and we usual have an excellent experience. Tonight there was three open seats at the bar and we sat down to order cocktails. We were rudely told by the bar tender we could not sit at the bar and consume a drink while we waited for our table. I don't have the words to articulate how absolutely asinine this policy is. It colminated in my party purchasing NO drinks and I can tell you if it were not for me not wanting to be rude to the other people in my party I would have left. Huge fail on Saty Popas!

We have been coming to this restaurant for years. Food is fabulous. New rule now…. You can’t drink at the bar. You have to order a meal in order to sit at the bar!!!! Bartender was EXTREMELY rude! Not the way to treat customers

I brought a couple from North Atlanta to experience the Shrimp lunch special. We were not disappointed. Tasty and ample portions too.
Kid-friendliness: Kids menú available 3 choices including Chicken tenders.

My husband and I both had the cast iron shrimp - it was flavorless. Very disappointed

I’m over it. Don’t get me wrong, the food is great, but the wait stinks. I have had dinner here probably five times in the last two months, with an average wait time of about an hour. You have to wait outside on the patio. If you want a drink while waiting, you stand in the take out food order line for 15 minutes until the bartender (for entire restaurant plus bar plus phone order taker) gets to you. I love their cold peel and eat shrimp and decided to do take out to avoid that long wait. I tried calling multiple times to place the order for a simple 1 lb carryout shrimp order since we would be driving by there heading home. We rotated between long hold and no answer when calling back. Giving up, we pulled in and I got in that dreaded carry out line for that 15 minute wait. Finally it was my turn. I ordered my pound of cold shrimp and was advised it would be about 45 minutes. Seriously? There are lots of places with good shrimp. I’m done with this stress.

The lady looked like she wanted to go home and looked very tired and my friend ordered the shrimp and steak and he said that it was half burnt but other than that it was good would recommend the buffalo chicken wings and the shrimp and you can draw on the table so that’s a plus (update) I think I got food poisoning form this place I’ve gone to the bathroom 12 times since 5am and I feel awful please save your money

I had coconut shrimp. Was definitely not the best I've had. The hush puppies seemed like they soaked up the grease for several minutes. Hog fish was good but not much for the price.

The food was marginal and overpriced. Our waitress was in serious need of a vacation and acted like she was doing us a favor. We asked a server for water while we were waiting for our table and she the old us to go to the bar and get it ourselves. I questioned the need for us to walk inside to the bar for water and she said she would check and never came back. I witnessed our waitress solving a billing issue with the table next to us with a very indignant attitude and unwillingness to take accountability for her mistake. I was was blown away by these two employees and their attitudes. All things considered I'll not be going back

Salty Papa's was ok, but we won't go back. The food that wasn't fried was pretty good, but the fried food didn't have much taste. The fried shrimp were big, and not too bad, but the fried clams had no clam taste at all. It was like eating cracklin'. My dad is usually a big fan of fish and chips, and was very disappointed. He said they were just ok. A few of us got cheese grits, as sides, and they were a solid lump, with cheese sprinkled on top, not even melted in.
We did not complain. It was crowded and we had a toddler with us, so we didn't want to stay any longer than necessary.

Long wait—over an hour because we were a party of 2. They had several tables open but they sat 4-6. When we asked were told we had to wait until a table for 2 opened.

I ordered a burger (everyone else did shrimp but I'm not a seafood fan) ... which resulted in our food taking 4 times longer to reach our table - this according to staff when we asked why every table after us got thier food before us. Ordered the burger rare and it came very well done instead. Only an excuse instead of an apology - disappointing. Not our usual experience there ... 🫤

A well known local fish and seafood joint that consistently delivers great food. The fresh fish is always cooked perfectly. The appetizers and salads are fresh, delicious and with house made dressings. The fried green tomatoes are awesome!
I highly recommend stopping here for a great meal as well as prompt service.
