“It's been decades since I've done a float trip, so when a friend invited me to kayak the Lower Santa Fe River I wasn't sure what to expect. When I found out the place providing the kayaks and transportation was Rum 138, I recognized it as I attended a music festival there a few years back. So, first, the music events: They're a fun time, well-operated, and if they are multi-day the venue gets permits to allow attendees to camp on-site. Highly recommended, assuming you like the bands involved (the event I attended was an assortment roots/Americana, rock, and Grateful Dead style fare, right up my alley). As for the kayaking: FANTASTIC. The price is right, about $50 for drop-off, pick-up, boat, paddle, and life jacket for a full day on the river. You get a very detailed briefing on what to expect and what high points to look for (there are various springs, etc. off the main riverbed that you can visit). Our briefer was -- my spelling, which could be wrong -- Marihelen, and she was a font of great information. The guy who helped us select our boats, drove us down to the river, put us in, and picked us up several miles downstream, was also very friendly, helpful, and informative. Sorry, I can't remember his name. It was just an insanely great time. Of course, Rum 138 didn't invent the river, but they make the experience of floating it fun, easy, smooth, and not too hard on the wallet.”

“I usually go there and order, then go get some beer and come back and get my food. They continue to outdo themselves in customer service and quality of food. Their staff is always very nice and their manager is also very committed to excellence. I love this place. ”
“We are in this town temporarily and every time we pass by we see this good truck. We finally tried the food here and it’s amazing!! We got the Philly cheesesteak… one of The best I’ve tried,The best ones have been in Philadelphia! The sweet potato fries are delicious, too. They also sell Sweet potato pie and it’s soooo good. Excellent customer service. Totally recommend it! Support local businesses!”
“Finally got into Reds 2 Sundays in the last couple of weeks? and we had a blast with cool locals and awesome friends! Nice crowd both days with karaoke and open ? mic. Meet Dan and Deborah, so pleasant and welcoming ☺️ The beers were cold ❄️ like I like em in this HOT Florida weather and the tacos and chili dogs hit the spot! ??? Though it was my first time(s) I'm glad they're trying to get back to ole times (heard a lot of good things ☺️) Can't wait to visit again!”
“Lots of smiles... yes sir/ No sir.Well schooled staff. Made great suggestions when I felt a bit unsure. Made face to face further service check up while doing QC of the seated area.”
“The Wine and Pizza pairing the other night was AWESOME. Please host more it was a great event!!I am admittedly a New York pizza snob. This place passes the test with 5 stars across the board. Thank Heavens for a new restaurant choice in High Springs!!!Ambiance : 5/5Love, LOVE, love the decor throughout this place. The women’s bathroom was AMAZING. No expense spared on new pizza ovens, plenty of tables inside and out for smaller groups. Large parties might have trouble getting seated together.Food/Drink 5/5I order a Margarita pizza that was perfect. The crust was just right, sauce was not too sweet and fresh mozzarella and basil. Beautiful presentation. My wife had a build your own with pepperoni, mushroom, peppers and onions. It was outstanding. It was crisp on the bottom but light and not too thick.Only thing that would have made this better is a beer from High Springs brewery (which is right next door). This place is working on a liquor license so fingers crossed. They have a unique dessert with a clever name called the “Beeramisu” which is a spin-off on Tiramisu. The owner created the recipe and it was delicious.Service : 5/5Wonderful!! Kelly the owner brought the food to our table and checked on us a couple of times. I always think it’s pretty important for a new establishment (open about month) that the owners keep tabs on the customers. Well done Kelly. Conclusion : We live in Alachua but I will have no problems jumping in a car to ride to this place. Hopefully many, many times.Vegetarian options: Gluten Free”
“So lucky to have this place a few miles from my farm , I have taken visiting friends there and everyone has loved it , great ambiance , excellent beer and always a good food truck on site or just cross the street for Prohibition Pizza (another fav!)”
“It was my first time eating here(my daughter suggested it) and I liked everything that I ordered. I had a white pizza with steak, loaded fries( I added chicken), and my daughter had a turkey and cheese grinder. The young lady at the front was very friendly, staff was friendly, and amazingly, even all the other customers were friendly. A very nice experience. Would definitely recommend and most definitely eating here again.”
“We decided to try this dinner. The atmosphere was great. Just like the dinners years ago. Fantastic service. Their hamburgers are delicious. Big, thick and juicy. We like our burgers without any pink meat. Their cook was fantastic. The burgers were perfect. I made sure to let him know. It is so hard to find great burgers lately. I was surprised my wife ate all of hers. We will be back. We want to try some other sandwiches . Even with the 2 hour drive.”
“Super adorable ice cream shop. The ice cream is tasty. Good variety of flavors. The shop's decor is so interesting. Lots of cool art. Candy. T shirts. Stuff kids would love. Highly recommended.”
“Sarah took our order and she just made our day, she interacted with us as if we were old friends even those we had never met before. Yes the prices are high but that may not be Bev’s fault, the cost of living is going up everywhere. The wait for the food was well worth it, I got the double double with a large fry and chicken nuggets and it was all 10 out of 10! Home style cooking that does not disappoint. I would recommend this as a “must stop at” when you’re in the area, I know my wife and I certainly will be coming back here.”
“This place is a gem! Wonderful owners, awesome atmosphere, excellent home-baked treats, and fantastic coffee! The Cafe Con Leche was the best I've ever had- well-balanced, not too sweet, perfect!! Definitely stop in and check this place out!”
“Very great place the pizza was very good for a very great price it was a nice environment with very great employees who all treated my friends and I with respect and were very cool people and I would say I had a great ”
“Was just there and bought the most amazing and delicious Tiramisu. Excellent and will definitely be back for more. And, the pudding filled eclairs are equally as delicious ?”
“I had the best wings I've ever had at the keg room! Had the garlic Parm. Large winged wings, not the wee tiny ones most bars serve. Crunchy outside, tender inside and the seasoning was perfection. If the bartender had been a little friendlier and more welcoming, she might have pointed out the specials. Then I would've gotten tacos and missed out on those luscious wings! Specials are written on the far back wall behind the pool tables. There are 3 pool tables, a dollar to play, which is fair”
“we found the place driving up north, it’s a clean quick stop for pizza, customer service is great, they didn’t have veggie slices, Kristin made us fresh pizza so we can get it by the slices. We highly recommendVegetarian options: Cheese pizza veggie pizza fries”
“AwesomeVegetarian options: Veggie plates, fries, jalapeno poppers, fried mushrooms, cheese sticks, mashed potatoes, onion rings, salads, fried okra, fried corn nuggets, tator tots, fried squash, sweet potato fries, veggie omelettes, pancakes (plain, blueberry, chocolate chip, pecan ), spinach tomato with feta cheese omelette, French toastKid-friendliness: Many Kids meals for breakfast and lunch and dinner, booster and high chairsWheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp near the handicap parking spot to allow access to the restaurant via wheelchair”
“It's your typical dive bar as far as atmosphere goes (I love dives so that isn't a complaint) staff was friendly, local patrons were friendly. Justin makes a mean Bloody Mary. I will be back when I'm in town.”
“Everything tried so far on this extensive menu has been very good. The Benedicts are particularly delish. Edited to add that I tried the crab Benedict and it is legit. More southern style fried crab cake than Maryland broiled but very full of crab and good flavor. On a scale where John Shields in Baltimore is a 10, this is a solid 7.5 maybe 8. Will order again.Parking: Sunday morning shared with church is crowded.”
“Fantastic food truck! Order and pay in the store, pick up from the nice ladies in the food truck. My spicy pork sope and chorizo quesadilla were freshly made, plentiful and fantastic! Easy walk from the truck stops and definitely worth it!”
“This is the best authentic mexican food my family has had in a while! The steak, chicken, and cow tongue tacos are really good. but my favorite is the steak quesadillas. The food has great tasting favor with just enough seasoning. The owners are really nice and friendly. With Taqueria Betel being just around the corner from us we will definitely become a regular!”
“This restaurant is lovely. The building itself is beautiful. The food was top-notch—generous servings and decently priced. The waitress was friendly and attentive through our meal. We had a cup of tomato bisque, salad, filet, salmon, mashed potatoes and Mac n cheese. Delicious!”
“They were super nice even right before closing! Everyone was very helpful and they have a full Italian menu. I will definitely try more dishes from this restaurant.Parking: Literally always a spotWheelchair accessibility: No stairs or raised entry whatsoever. All parking is close to the door.”
“This is a very nice family run business with great prices and amazing food! Their food is better than any other Asian restaurant around here by a lot! As a regular they treat me very nicely and always go the extra mile to make the experience better!”
“We dine in or take out at least 2-3 times a week. The food is consistently cooked exactly as expected, the service is great, and yes you order your food first and the. it’s brought to you so if you can’t get past that concept then you’ll miss out!You can also sit at the bar and order food or enjoy a cold beer or drink. The atmosphere is super chill and there’s sitting inside and outside. Full bar with pool tables inside.”
“It's best to get here during the busy time. The food is fresher that way. Ok service. Love the pizza but it wasn't very hot. Next time might just get a whole pie to ensure it's hot and right out of the oven. The slices are all reheated. Typically plenty of seating. There's a convenience store connected to this location and shared bathrooms which aren't too clean. There's nothing closer to this place so for the area it's the best around, lol!”
“We stopped to this little store at got the most amazing service from an older lady and a young lady with pink hair. They were nice, speedily, and extremely helpful. Thank you!”
“They've added Pizza to their menu and it's not bad pretty decent Pizza I go there mostly for the gizzards cuz they've got good gizzards anyway good place to swing by if you're in the neighborhood”
“I've been coming to Ft. White to visit a friend for about 12 years now. I was pleased to see the addition of the collective. I stopped by and had a wonderful lunch and chat about how it started. It was disappointing to hear about the town wanting to put limits on the idea of it growing and a place for the town people to come together. I wish you much success!”
