“It's been decades since I've done a float trip, so when a friend invited me to kayak the Lower Santa Fe River I wasn't sure what to expect. When I found out the place providing the kayaks and transportation was Rum 138, I recognized it as I attended a music festival there a few years back. So, first, the music events: They're a fun time, well-operated, and if they are multi-day the venue gets permits to allow attendees to camp on-site. Highly recommended, assuming you like the bands involved (the event I attended was an assortment roots/Americana, rock, and Grateful Dead style fare, right up my alley). As for the kayaking: FANTASTIC. The price is right, about $50 for drop-off, pick-up, boat, paddle, and life jacket for a full day on the river. You get a very detailed briefing on what to expect and what high points to look for (there are various springs, etc. off the main riverbed that you can visit). Our briefer was -- my spelling, which could be wrong -- Marihelen, and she was a font of great information. The guy who helped us select our boats, drove us down to the river, put us in, and picked us up several miles downstream, was also very friendly, helpful, and informative. Sorry, I can't remember his name. It was just an insanely great time. Of course, Rum 138 didn't invent the river, but they make the experience of floating it fun, easy, smooth, and not too hard on the wallet.”

“We are in this town temporarily and every time we pass by we see this good truck. We finally tried the food here and it’s amazing!! This place is working on a liquor license so fingers crossed.They have a unique dessert with a clever name called the “Beeramisu” which is a spin-off on Tiramisu. The owner created the recipe and it was delicious.Service : 5/5Wonderful!! Kelly the owner brought the food to our table and checked on us a couple of times. I always think it’s pretty important for a new establishment (open about month) that the owners keep tabs on the customers. “It was my first time eating here(my daughter suggested it) and I liked everything that I ordered. I had a white pizza with steak, loaded fries( I added chicken), and my daughter had a turkey and cheese grinder. The young lady at the front was very friendly, staff was friendly, and amazingly, even all the other customers were friendly. A very nice experience. Would definitely recommend and most definitely eating here again.”

“We decided to try this dinner. The atmosphere was great. Just like the dinners years ago. Fantastic service. Their hamburgers are delicious. Big, thick and juicy. We like our burgers without any pink meat. Their cook was fantastic. The burgers were perfect. I made sure to let him know. It is so hard to find great burgers lately. I was surprised my wife ate all of hers. We will be back. We want to try some other sandwiches . Even with the 2 hour drive.”

“Sarah took our order and she just made our day, she interacted with us as if we were old friends even those we had never met before. Yes the prices are high but that may not be Bev’s fault, the cost of living is going up everywhere. The wait for the food was well worth it, I got the double double with a large fry and chicken nuggets and it was all 10 out of 10! Home style cooking that does not disappoint. I would recommend this as a “must stop at” when you’re in the area, I know my wife and I certainly will be coming back here.”

“I had the best wings I've ever had at the keg room! Had the garlic Parm. Large winged wings, not the wee tiny ones most bars serve. Crunchy outside, tender inside and the seasoning was perfection. If the bartender had been a little friendlier and more welcoming, she might have pointed out the specials. Then I would've gotten tacos and missed out on those luscious wings! Specials are written on the far back wall behind the pool tables. There are 3 pool tables, a dollar to play, which is fair”

More southern style fried crab cake than Maryland broiled but very full of crab and good flavor. On a scale where John Shields in Baltimore is a 10, this is a solid 7.5 maybe 8. There's a convenience store connected to this location and shared bathrooms which aren't too clean. There's nothing closer to this place so for the area it's the best around, lol!”
