This place is so great. As a newer resident, I've explored a few places in Gainesville and this one is reallllllly really really good. I asked them for their favorite/preference, and they gave me a rib dinner. The meat is the perfect texture imo, the bbq sauce is really classic/traditional and unique, the greens taste like something out of a home, and the rice is 10/10, especially with the peas. They have coke and pepsi
I totally recommend this, I am excited to try their oxtail and their brisket. Perfect Saturday lunch stop joint :) My total came to $21.20, a value in 2026.

BEST BARBECUE IN TOWN! I’m glad I took a picture of it before I ate because as soon as I started, I couldn’t stop. The quality of the food and customer service here is unmatched. This Spot is a must! I will be coming back here again shortly. 10/10

My wife and I got the red snapper lunch and griot lunch. The both were fantastic. My collards were the best I’ve had in a while as well. My wife got the ribs with Mac n Cheese and that’s a whole meal unto itself. We will definitely be coming back!

I have given Bite Down BBQ two chances...
The first time I ate there I got the ribs. They were small and burned. They had way too much sauce. I think they were trying to hide the quality of the ribs. The sides were okay.
The second time I got brisket. It was dry, even with sauce, and tough.
It is expensive for what you get.
The attitude of the gentleman at the window is surly.
They are parked at a gas station on the corner of Archer Rd and 34th Street. The location is loud and can be a hassle to get in and out of.

Bite Down BBQ brought in Food Truck for an event to our Sun retreats Ocala Orange Lake Park April 2025 and it was a Hit! So much so, we have asked them back and our guests/Residents cannot wait! They are amazing! Food delish and Service top notch!

Best find I could have hoped for! I found bite down on Google and figured I'd give it a shot bc the reviews. I pulled up to a clean food truck and a father/daughter power team! I love bbq and can be a tough critic but they didn't disappoint. Some of the best ribs I had in a while. Proud Haitian family dropped some options with their own style if you want. I got a side of Pikliz, a spicy coleslaw and OMG it was delicious. Planned to bring some to my wife but unfortunately for her I ate it all!! Not a local but I will be back when next trip to Gainesville. Nothing but blessings and good vibes to this business and family!!!!

The food here was absolutely amazing! We got the ribs, wings, mac n cheese, bakes beans, and potato salad and they were so gracious to give us a piece of cake too! Everything was cooked to perfection- so juicy with flavor! The family was so kind and we appreciate them greatly!

I was looking forward to trying their food but the gentleman decision to Argue with me about the simplest misunderstanding.
My 16 year old son asked for chicken and ribs $35 and two sides are included
We wanted the beans and rice and mac and add an additional side on greens(additional charge)
The gentleman charged us 35 and 7 for green and 7 for mac so i figured it was a mistake and i just needed $7 back.
As i politely pointed out the error the gentleman said maybe next time dont send a child! My thought was maybe dont try to rip people off but i smiled and said sir its common sense that two of my sides should be included and charge only for one.
He argued with me instead of just refunding the $7 and i explained to him ive been in customer service for years and i couldn’t believe what was being blowed up for nothing and i was hungry as hell ugh
It ended with sir never mind please refund entire meal!
His response was i will and that doesn’t bother ME you want a refund and im here to tell you it SHOULD BOTHER YOU WE THE PEOPLE KEEP YOU IN BUSINESS AND PLEASE USE THIS AS A LESSON TO BETTER YOURSELF BECAUSE ONE BAD APPLE CAN SPOIL THE REST! Other than that i wish you success but next time listen to listen and dont get so hostile a 7$ refund costed you $57 buck and to me thats a loss!
