Happy I found this place. Recently moved to Gainesville and decided to try China 88 since they’re close to my house and was so pleasantly surprised with how delicious everything was. Everything always tastes very fresh!

Family owned and operated, very friendly staff, food is good, and one of the few places in this college town that still offers a Lunch Special that's filling with a free drink for under $10, and dinner menu is still reasonably priced in this crazy economy. Plus, they now sell Boba Tea for $5.

China 88 has been a staple of mine for years, YEARS! They have the best General Tso’s Chicken in Gainesville, with the spice level absolutely perfect and where I love it to be. The eggrolls are addicting and I remember a time I was having a bad day, and, just because, they gave me an extra egg roll. This place isn’t just about food, it’s about humanity. It’s well run and is always clean inside. Everyone is always so welcoming to all the customers and I super enjoy the food they serve. I’ll always remain a China 88 enthusiast for as it continues to exist in GNV. I have tried other options on the menu: orange chicken, and their pork fried rice. Both are also immaculate.

I had takeout here the first night in my new apartment, and it was amazing. The food was ready in about 10 minutes, and it was piping hot! I didn’t get to eat it until about an hour after I brought it home. And it was still. Hot. The employees are the sweetest and most kindest, I came back the next day because I forgot duck sauce and wanted it for my leftovers, and the employees were so, so kind. I am so excited to be a regular here :)

Food was ready in twice the estimated time. It was probably the worst Chinese food we ever had. After sampling everything, we just threw it all in the trash.
Got sesame chicken and lo mein to go. Worst Chinese food I've ever had. Chicken was very overcooked and hard. Lo mean was 80% vegetables and 20% noodles.
