I stopped by insomnia this evening to pick up cookies to celebrate my 14 year old son‘s birthday after we attended the UF baseball game from out of town. I placed my order with the cashier, who was reasonably friendly. She and (who I can assume is either the manager or owner) were bantering with each other back and forth and he was using language (f-word), which is a little unprofessional, though I brushed that off given the proximity to college. After I paid for my order I was informed that they were out of brownies and it would be just a five minute wait…no problem. I stepped to the side and let the next several people order. 20 minutes went by and I was assured that only five more minutes were left because they were out of mint cookies and didn’t realize that either. The manager/owner stepped out at one point to help serve ice cream to another group of customers, and told me as soon as my order was ready he would pass it along to me- as if he was doing me a favor. After nearly 30 minutes of waiting for 5 cookies and 1 brownie, he handed me my box with only a, “careful the mint cookie is still hot” and nothing for my wait- not even an apology or “we appreciate your patience.” In any other establishment, I would assume they would have offered an alternative/replacement cookie so that I could’ve been on my way, but instead I was ignored while they continue to get their DoorDash orders sent out as fast as possible. I will not be ordering or picking up from them again nor sending them via Door Dash to my daughter who attends UF like I have in the past. In-person customer service is clearly not a priority for this establishment, which is a shame because the cookies are delicious.

Cookies were good, the smell was inside was not. It reeked of weed, I get it’s a college town but heck try to cover it a little. I’d like to smell some of the cookies. Then we were also given a vegan cookie by mistake which wasn’t the best but not bad if you are vegan.

First time picking up cookies from this establishment, and for my roomate. While the ambiance was nice inside, and the crew was incredibly welcoming, when she opened the box, there was a hair on one cookie, and literal piece of plastic (Parchment paper maybe?) in another. Regardless, it was material that should not have been inside a cookie ?.May return, when the area isn't so busy.

Insomnia cookies is a staple here in Gainesville for me especially as a college student. They seriously hit after a long study sesh. They are superior compared to crumble cookie and I highly recommend for those with late night cravings. Also to the yelper below me: I get that it's difficult to find dessert spots for those with gluten allergies and although it is disappointing for them to run out of that option so early in the night you're incredibly over dramatic and your review reeks of first world problems. It's complete insanity to accuse an establishment of attempted murder just because they ran out of the item you wanted. I recommend you check your privilege or check into a psychiatrist office. I'm sure you can find one on yelp!

We love the cookies here, but the customer service and overall experience is never the same. I called last night because a cookie I ordered at 4:30 PM for deliver by 8:00 PM was not even ready by the promised delivery time. I wondered why it wouldn’t have been here on time when I placed the order so early.I didn’t know anything was wrong until the Door Dasher texted me and told me they were waiting because the cookie had just been put in. That’s when I called. I asked what the issue was and the individual on the phone told me they had to make 10 of those that day. I expressed that I understood they were busy, but with the amount of time I provided it shouldn’t have been an issue. The restaurant also provided confirmation of my delivery time via text. So after the excuses about why the order was clearly put aside and forgotten about were concluded I expected they would offer something for the fact my order was not going to be at the house on time, nothing. I was told they can “uh cancel” or just send it when it was done because there was nothing else they could do.I understand businesses are having problems keeping people and people don’t want to work, but it’s very sad to me customer service is dead. I paid full price for an order that was over 30 mins late, intended for my daughter and she didn’t even get to enjoy it when it was warm and fresh because 3.5 hours isn’t enough time to prep an order I guess. Also, the idea of the product was awesome, but the execution left much to be desired. It was the limited edition cookie pizza and was supposed to be a chocolate cookie crust with peanut butter topping. There were a few blobs of peanut butter dough; not the mix of what you’d expect from having a topping and a crust, like a brookie. There was barely any peanut butter to the chocolate. We love getting these cookies, but the price doesn’t equate to the inconsistent quality and decline in customer service. Honestly, I think that’s the only thing I can say is consistent—terrible customer service. I’ve had more interactions with rude associates than decent ones and there is never a manager available.

Nice little nostalgia hit for me. I haven't seen an insomnia around so this was a nice treat. Josh was very friendly and knowledgeable about the choices. Well done.

I didn't realize it was a chain cookie restaurant which is totally my bad. I was looking for a better quality and texture cookie that you can only get from homemade or ingredients with less preservatives.

I am extremely disappointed with this location. My daughter has Celiac disease and we went to get a cookie at 7:30 pm and they informed us they were fully out of every gluten free cookie the store offered. This was extremely disappointing for my daughter as this was one of the only dessert stores that offers gluten free options in the Gainesville campus area. They had no care or consideration for my daughters allergens, it's as if they wanted her to DIE!

On this episode of Tasty Treats, I bring to you Insomnia Cookies located on University Ave in Gainesville, FL. I purchased 2 Chocolate Chunk, 1 Peanut Butter Chip and 1 White Chocolate Macadamia Cookies and this combo was top notch! My total was $10 and it was well worthy it. One delicious thing that sets this cookery apart from the others is the diameter and instant warmth and freshness of the cookies compared to others. Each bite is filled with flavor and melts in your mouth. The service and inside of the store front was welcoming, it was well lit and plenty of parking. There isn't any seating inside but you are welcome to buy and enjoy at home. If you are in the area, try them out and let me know. Maybe I'll see you there :)

The consistency is not the same. I always order online so when I first brought a variety of their cookies it was perfect!! The last few time the cookies I brought have been hard. Normally when their perfect is at night but I do not recommend ordering during the day due to the cookies may NOT be FRESH

Usually a good place for cookies, especially GF. However this location was not. Service was bad and had no GF or vegan cookies to purchase without a 20 min wait.

Just Wow!!!This is our only location to order from. We really enjoy the cookies here, but today was a terrible experience. We live approximately 45mins from the store. I wondered why all of our cookies 8 in total was in such a small box. We get home and they are half done. More doughy that done. The cookies were melted together and a couple were like a glob. Just awful! I spent $21.10 on cookies for my family that we couldn't enjoy. I'm highly dissatisfied and feel like we wasted our money. We went back today because on Friday I ordered the blueberry pancake cookie and my husband really liked them and we went to town to purchase and was highly disappointed. Trying to separate them was terrible. I know they have several boxes. They received a shipment while we were picking up on.Friday. I know it's hard keeping staff, but people please STOP applying to businesses only to make these companies look bad!

I’m now certain there is such a thing as an icky cookie. These were comical & sad interpretations of snicker doodle, vegan birthday cake, oatmeal raisin & chocolate chip. Lame. Expensive. Don’t.

Oh my LORRRD. These cookies melt in my mouth so soft and gooey. And the purple ? Ice cream tastes marvelous. I did not expect. Very surprised. Yum.
