This is a restaurant that you just have to be really familiar with Gainesville to even know it exists. It is tucked at the end of a road way over by the ymca on the north side of town. Blink and you will miss it. But once you get there it is surprisingly pleasant. It has a vast menu and a big outdoor seating area and the staff are very attentive and friendly. In addition to all this the food actually tastes authentic and it is all delicious. The only reason I am giving a 4 star instead of 5 is because although it is clean and tidy the restaurant looks very old and not in a good way. Other than that it is top notch and I would recommend if you are looking for some authentic Mexican food.

This is the best Mexican restaurant in town! Growing up having authentic Mexican food from home this is by far the closest thing to home. Their carne asada is by far the best, as that is my go to meal. I also tried their tacos. Their shrimp tacos had exquisite flavor. The shrimp had a great size and juice to them. The only thing that this restaurant does not have to the other Latin cuisine in town is horchata, milky rice cinnamon drink. Drinking a coke with Mexican food is always tasty, but having horchata with Mexican food is incomparable. I definitely recommend Las Maracas to everyone.

New Mexican restaurant in town. We like to check out new places from time to time and I believe Las Maracas is a great place to check out. Food is great, drinks are perfect, and the service was great as well. Location doesn't do it justice, but I would highly recommend. If your looking for great Mexican food, Las Maracas is a great place to start.

There is no shortage of Mexican restaurants in Gainesville. So when a new one opens, I expect it to be good quality because they are not the only one town. Las Maracas fell short for me, and I had some food quality concerns. The service was very relaxed, so relaxed that I had a hard time recognizing the staff from everyone else. I ordered a chips and cheese dip for the table, and I ordered the steak mexicano as my dinner. The cheese dip was typical, but the chips, specifically the blue ones, were not my favorite, as they had a smoky flavor. My dinner was very "just okay" but I didn't have a big issue until the last bite of steak. The last bite I took tasted ROTTEN. Like, legitimately like a rancid piece of meat. I (rudely) spit it out in a panic and then frantically tried to get the taste out of my mouth. I spent the rest of the night worried I was going to get sick. This is probably an old wives tale, but I went as far as taking 2 shots of the nastiest hard alcohol to "kill" anything inside of my stomach. I didn't get sick, but the experience ruined any chance that I will return, especially in light of some great Mexican establishments in Gainesville.

Wonderful food and and full bar with great service. Our waitress, Raven was the best! Hope the word gets out about the new restuarant located where Gator Tails previously was. Good luck Las Maracas!

I had some family coming into town and decided to try out this new restaurant after hearing good things about it through word of mouth and was not disappointed at all! The service was exceptional and the food was on point. I had the mojares which was a traditional whole fried fish and the ribeye steak. I am really pleased with the quality and will be coming back.

Las Maracas was a really great experience. Our staff was kind and entertaining. Didn't mind our large group of silly individuals. The food was fantastic. From the combos to the chirizo to the Molcahete (pictured) to the flaming lava cake (WITH REAL FLAMES) it was an excellent experience.
