Nice people, and lots of sweet stuff. However, you will find healthier choices too. You will not be disappointed.

I made an unexpected trip to Gainesville after finding out my aunt was in a bad car accident and stopped by this place for coffee support. My family raves about their croissants, but they were out and I was a bit bummed. They gave me their macaroons instead and sent me home with a ton of goodies after finding out I drove all the way from Tallahassee. It was a tough day, but their kindness made it better. I will be stopping by on most, if not all of my visits to Gainesville from now on and I’ve already recommended them to a bunch of friends in the area. The food, coffee and service are superb.

Adorable back patio (with a power outlet). Fantastic food - I love their quiche, the raspberry choc pastries, and any of the savory pastries, and every employee I've met is kind, effective, and an all-around good hire. The coffee is pretty decent, but the pricing and policies for it are a little confusing and inconvenient at best, frustrating when not consistent. $4 for a 12oz mug of pretty good drip coffee that they can't reheat for you (a microwave seems like a useful investment for the patrons prioritizing beverage temp) - they can only top it off for you for $3 more, the cost of their small coffee. It's not the end of the world, but maybe get your hot beverages to-go if you dine in so you at least have a lid to keep it from getting cold quickly? It's probably fine on a warm day. This would be my go-to place for laptop work or studying, but the coffee menu/policies aren't really designed for that. If that's not important to you, you'll love it and leave a 5 star review. Again, fantastic food and ambiance, good coffee with overly-limiting policies, and solid employees.

While this is technically a smaller version of Uppercrust Bakery this by far is a much more inviting environment to meet up with a friend. They offer carefully crafted coffee drinks and amazing baked goods for you to choose from. The quiche is a regular's favorite no matter what flavor they are offering. If going for coffee go for the cappuccino so that you can enjoy the quality of the coffee without diluting it down with extras. Service is fast and friendly. They have both indoor and outdoor covered seating. They often sell out early so if you are planning on a late trip you might want to call in advance after 3pm.

Called and left an order, not answering phone.
Went to pick up 30 mins later and no coffee.
Advised that they don't take coffee orders over the phone despite having a tray for coffee and food pick up.
Male employee did not assist in making coffee causing a much longer wait for customers.
When they stopped making croque monsieur i stopped going
Excellent faire and service. The Resident Coffee was pulled to perfection. Loved the croissant.

The product is wonderful. The environment is beautiful and inviting. The people who work there are not warm, welcoming or friendly. They don't seem happy to work there. The service is very slow. I've visited in the morning and want quick service as I have a busy day. The pace of service is annoying. I noticed the people take an order at the register, then fulfill the order themselves. Would it be faster to have one person taking orders and payment, and another person fulfilling orders? The owners need to address the low morale and slow service. I'm giving them one more chance to improve.

Can be noisy even outdoors, depending on how many customers there are. Food is excellent, popular place.

I like this place better than the original Uppercrust. It's more of a cafe. There's less pressure to order.
This has a great vibe that makes you want to stay and hang out. It's got all the great pastries and the coffee is great. I'm upset I only just found out about it.

I have been going to this location of Upper rust for some months now. As a morning person I am always upbeat and positive with a good demeanor. Unfortunately one of your baristas mistook my kind nature as somewhat off-putting. The nature of my transaction from that moment was immediately cold, short answered and disrespectful. I will be going back one more time and I will be ordering as usual if I receive the same response I will respectfully request their name and I will be entering another review.
