We were there for my first time. I got the brisket dinner, and hubby got the rib dinner. It was good. I tried all the bbq sauces. They kind of all taste the same. Good, but they are kind of the same. We're a bit tantedby the other bbq place with a military theme. Still I enjoyed my meal. The spiked sweet tea was good, too.
Had a great appetizer, tator tots with barbacued brisket and cheese. Very fun and tasty. For dinner I ordered Candied Bacon Chicken Sandwich. The bacon was delicious, but over all the sandwich was not as good. Poorly put together on not very garlicy, garlic bread and a had a rather thin sliced portion of a chicken breast and lettuce. Mayo and barbecue on the side. For such a signature sandwich, it lacked care and character. Anyway, Sonny's seems to have good barbecue,...
I had to wait a while for the food but that was not a big issue. However, i ordered a 3 meat combo pit, all smoked chicken wings, and I think they cheated cuz they only gave me 6 wings! Also after I paid, I was told that they didn't have baked potato and I had to change by sides. Had to make sure they refunded the $4 bucks they charged for the loaded potatoes that I wasn't getting. So disappointed.
