Buffet line was not controlled by staff. One patron stood at front of omelette line and allowed one family member after another, at least 6 - 8 to cut in front of rest of line and continued to place orders in front of other guests. $36 for buffet is too expensive for value and quality of meal.
Overall, our business lunch was great. The only thing we noted was there was a concrete jackhammer being used right outside where we were seated which made it difficult to have a conversation.
It took almost 40 minutes for two scrambled eggs, and one over easy plates to be served. The server was very friendly and attentive, but the kitchen was very slow. It was more than $100 for two coffees and three plates of eggs.
Corned beef hash was excellent. Server was very friendly and efficient. Make a reservation, even for breakfast. It saved as a lot of time as there was a long line.
It was delicious! A lot of the usual buffet food's but the taste and quality was amazing. They also had small crème brûlées in espresso cups for dessert that I am now obsessed with.
Expensive
Not very varied.

Best breakfast available at the Diplomat Resort. Did the a la carte menu as we don't eat enough for the buffet. Service was fantastic, food could be better for the price but decent eggs & bacon nonetheless.
Worse Christmas buffet I was ever at in all the buffets I ever attended. They took a 300 reservation and was all out of food I paid 300.00 for bad food that my wife and son was sick 2 days. The GM Robert called me after my complaints and all he did was dance around the subject instead of trying to fix the issues. Now I understand this restaurant going forward as I was a long time member of the Diplomat and will never eat there again. This Robert does not belong being a GM he doesn't know what he's doing and the restaurant reflects his management skills.
The food was excellent. Hard to find a better breakfast buffet and some unique options such as smoked salmon and charcuterie to go along with other typical breakfast items. Our awesome server (Fiona) made the experience that much better.

Our experience at the Point Royal was phenomenal. Our server, Fiona was the example of excellence. She greets you with a smile, serves with enjoyment, and took the time to learn our dietary needs. When you go to Point Royal ask for Fiona.
Along with fantastic service, the food was delicious. They have gluten-free options, which was quite a delight. My husband enjoyed the customized omelets prepared by Mr. Camille. If you have questions about the buffet just ask Mr. Alain he won't steer you wrong.
Overall, we give Point Royal all the stars we can. Thank you for making our experience fantastic!

We had a great server named Jennifer, who definitely improved what would’ve otherwise been a subpar experience. We waited in line for over 30 minutes for mediocre breakfast fare. They definitely need to hire more servers for the number of diners that they have. I can see eating here if you are staying at the hotel, have already paid for “included breakfast” and truly have no other option; however you should not waste if you haven’t already paid for “included breakfast” or if you are not staying at the property.

Just like any hotel restaurant, the food is okay, and the price is high. Service was really slow.
The food was fresh, but not enough variety. What’s up with 20% automatic tip trend!? It’s getting ridiculous, especially for all you can eat buffet, so I have to deduct 2 stars for that! It doesn’t make sense to me! You should be able to tip whatever you want! They need to have a sign letting people know that there is a 20% automatic tip. Also, prices are not kids friendly if you have small children, so not recommended for large families with small kids.

This is the best restaurant in The Diplomat. The prices are pretty reasonable for what you're getting and the service was very good both times we ate here. The buffet is huge and there are a lot of really interesting selections like tarts and creme brulee. The chicken sausage was pretty good as well. You can have someone make you a custom omelet which is nice. The buffet is $36 but it also includes unlimited drinks. There are also other selections on the menu like breakfast burritos and breakfast sandwiches. It's much better food than what you'd find on, say, a cruise ship buffet. With that said, it's better to come early because like all buffets the food is fresher the earlier you get there.
Server was extremely attentive and did a great job. Atmosphere is also really nice as you're sitting right near the beach with some window views. The gratuity is included but I also paid the server a little extra since she did such a good job. I went here with two other family members and we all agreed that this was the best restaurant at The Diplomat. It's a shame they're not open for lunch.
