Food was good. Service stunk. Mandatory gratuity. Clean hotel restaurant, but uninspired. Drunk loudmouths at the bar and the menu on Google is wrong. Keep looking.

The place is decadent. We were the only group of people at the restaurant. The hotel seems to be empty. In the past it was better..so sad.

Terrible food! We were the not people there at 5:30 PM. My daughter and I had the seafood linguine my son had the ribeye steak and my husband had the surf and turf. The linguine was bland and dry and the seafood rubbery. Both steaks were raw in the middle with a deep purple color (ordered medium) and a bad taste. My son even said that steak made him want to go vegetarian. The $40 tip was auto-added which was a surprise as well. We all left feeling sick to our stomachs. $250 bill for total trash. AVOID.

I had the Jerk Chicken and it was delishious. Friends ordered the Quesadilla and the pasta dish and said it was also delicious. Maria and the rest of the staff are so friendly.

Be aware their dishonest business practice regarding off menu items. The menu items are reasonably priced - like grilled salmon for $25. The waiter introduced some off menu items, mahi mahi and alfredo. I thought they should be similarly priced. However when the bill came back the both the mahi mahi and the pasta are charged for $40 each.
In my 20 years living in this country this is the first time I was ripped off like this. I would give 0 star if it were an option.

As an airline pilot you can imagine that I spend over 200 nights a year in hotels and the majority being at Marriott and Hilton, usually trash food at a ridiculous price leaving me going back to my room feeling like I was taken advantage of and not in a good way. Still, I had a special for the night, blackened snapper. It was the best hotel restaurant meal I’ve ever had. Not only that it was complimented by a very thorough and highly positive experience with the waiter Eric, he has such a positive and friendly vibe that was accommodating as well. If you’re even staying near this hotel and restaurant (port south at double tree), please pay a visit and if it’s over the weekend ask for Eric as a server. Don’t let me forget to say the busser was great as well. I think his name was Keelan and he kept the unnecessary clutter away so we could enjoy the small high top table we sat at to enjoy the water front view of the intercostal.

Port South Bar & Grill offers a fairly average dining experience. Here's a quick overview of my visit:

The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, making it a comfortable spot for a laid-back meal. The decor is simple and functional, though it lacks a distinctive character. It's a good place to catch up with friends or watch a game.

The service was adequate but nothing to write home about. The staff was friendly enough, but the service was slow at times, with long waits for food and refills.

The menu features typical bar and grill fare. The burgers were decent, though not particularly memorable, and the fries were crispy and well-seasoned. The wings were a highlight, with a good variety of sauces. However, some dishes, like the fish and chips, were a bit underwhelming.

The drink selection is standard, with a range of beers on tap and basic cocktails. Nothing stood out, but they were reasonably priced.

Prices are fair for what you get. It's not expensive, but the quality of the food matches the price point, making it a reasonable choice for a casual meal.

Port South Bar & Grill is a decent place for a casual outing, but it doesn't stand out in any particular way. It's a solid choice if you're in the area and looking for a straightforward meal or a place to hang out with friends.
