Usually a good place but tonight bartender was unable to play LOCAL team NHL game due to complicated tv system. No one was in restaurant and we weren't sure it was open at first even tho it was a Tuesday. :(

The value for the 3 meat tray is insane. The brisket was legendary. The wings were mouthwatering watching them go by and we didn’t even order them! Server/bartender was a workhorse. TVs for games!

Came in on a Friday night at just before 10pm gentleman greeted us wonderfully. We sat down to order and placed a rather large appetizer order. He got us drinks and while deciding what to order for dinner, the gentleman come over and tells us that the cook had shut down the kitchen already. I asked what does that mean to clarify what he was letting us know and he straight forward told us that the cook turned everything down and the kitchen was closed to include that he had just left without telling him. He promptly apologized several times and we left with no problem letting him know that we would be back the next night.
Saturday night 730 came in and another gentleman greeted us. We let him know that we were a party of 4 and he immediately asked if we had tickets. We asked for what and he stated for the comedy show that they were not taking anyone else for dinner. I then explained to him what had happened the night before and it didn't phase him.
Two times came in for barbecue and could not be served. Could not try the food to tell how good or bad it is because we weren't taken care of either time to try it. Just wish this place just a little better customer service.

We arrived at the Green Turtle Inn at 2:00pm to have lunch, and were told that they were closed and would open at 4:00pm (several people were eating in the restaurant at that time!!) on the poster in front of the restaurant, it says Open in giant letters. …. Anyway, we were sent here, we just wanted to try the Key Lime Pie. The waitress was a jerk, she specifically put our order in one place (to put it nicely). He didn't even ask if we wanted anything else, he just brought out the bill, and as soon as we finished eating, he immediately took the plates, signaling us to go. We didn't leave a tip, which he wrote down loudly and cheekily. He grimaced, raised his eyebrows and said "Chhhh". The waitress behaved very unpleasantly. It was very cute!! If you want to try Key Lime Pie, I suggest you go somewhere else!

Stopped in after having dinner next door after seeing that they had Wednesday night trivia. So happy we did. Jeff, the manager, was wonderful to talk to. Service was 5-star and the carrot cake was honestly the best I’ve ever had. Learned afterwards that it actually is award winning. ? Trivia was great, and the organizer kept the game going at a good pace. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Islamorada!
