We visited last night for date night and were thrilled with our decision. The staff were all super friendly, from the front counter to the table runners. We chose the brisket cheese fries and the lamb shank special to share. We ended up getting the very last order of the brisket for the day before they ran out. I'm not surprised that they ran out, the brisket was delicious and the place was totally packed. The fries were fantastic, but that lamb shank? Chefs kiss. It came with pimento cheese grits and collard greens which were also both really good. I don't typically like grits but I was ready to fight my husband over them. We are so excited to come back with the whole family, and to try more of their menu.

Billy Jacks BBQ- Be warned
You might get addicted!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

After a morning of fishing with my dad, we stopped at Billy Jack’s off Heckscher Drive for lunch, and it was phenomenal!

The Food: I had the brisket sandwich with hoe cakes. It was my first time trying a hoe cake, and it was absolutely delicious. They take their leftover cornbread and use it to make them. They also make them to order so when you get them, they are fresh and hot! I added butter and honey to mine and it melted in my mouth! The brisket was flavorful and i used the sweet and spicy sauce. Absolutely divine! Best bbq brisket I've had in a while! My dad had the fresh catch platter, and used Matts remoulade sauce recommendation and it took it to another level!!! We both cleaned our plates without hesitation.

The Service: Matt took our order and went above and beyond, walking us through the menu, suggesting items, and even bringing out sauces for us to try. The service was welcoming and attentive, and you could tell the staff genuinely enjoyed being there.

The Atmosphere: The setting made it even better. Billy Jack’s sits right on the river, with beautiful views and fishing boats drifting by. It’s the perfect backdrop for a relaxed, memorable meal.

Bonus: We also learned the owner is behind Marker 32, North Beach Fish Camp, and other well-known restaurants, and that he’s often working right alongside his team. That dedication to quality really shines through here. Every detail was on point.

Billy Jack’s is the kind of place where great food, great people, and a gorgeous view all come together. I highly recommend checking it out! But be warned, you will get addicted and want to go back for more!

P.S. the only thing I wish is that they had a dock. Would be a perfect place to stop when boating. Oh and in case you're wondering, no we didn't catch any keepers 🤣

We live up in Amelia Island.. Billy Jack's is the best.. especially the fried shrimp and fish. BBQ is excellent as well.. the outdoor seating is the best.. on the St. John's River ! what can me better!

Food was like… mid at best but mainly bad. Mac n cheese was lumpy and didn’t really have any browning on it which usually isn’t a big deal but that combo with being suuuuper bland was just bad. Didn’t finish it and I’m pretty easy to please w Mac and cheese. Pulled pork was also so dry I didn’t finish it, and the smoked sausage also wasn’t really browned. Also the sweet tea was rlly not sweet. I like unsweet tea- but sweet tea’s gotta be sweet.

Gator tail was ok- same with the beans, collards, Coleslaw and hoe cakes (but those were still kinda dry)

Heard a lot of hype so maybe a bad day, but not really tempted to go back

Family tried this place 2 weeks ago and have been back 3 more times. The ribs are seasoned great and fall off the bone delicious 🤤 Everything is good portions and made good southern style. They were so great with my Aunt’s birthday dinner party with 17 people in the party

We went for lunch today and loved it! The brisket was tasty, moist and tender, the black eyed peas were like grandmas, the pulled pork was superb and the sauces were very good. The parking lot was full and we expected a long We highly recommend.

Best BBQ around. Wish it wasn't so isolated.
Great stop when doing the A1A cruise and awaiting the Ferry crossing. And they have Coke Zero.

Food was great! Beautiful views. John Polli was also great and checked on us a few times to see if we needed anything else.
