I'm a Seattle guy who was in Jax for an extended stay, and I came here every other day for great coffee. We also rented the space after hours for a memorial service for a guy who had often met at Bold Bean with his son. The staff was incredibly supportive, and patient, and personally invested in the success of the memorial service. There are good people here.

I've been coming here for about a decade now and the quality has remained intact the whole time. The one sad part about it is they hire such cool people behind the bar that you end up really missing them when they move on to other things. Coffee is delicious and ethically sourced, non-coffee drinks (matcha, tea) are all high quality and very good. There's really something for everyone here. Kind people, good coffee, good atmosphere, Bold Bean doesn't really lack much.

I went to Bold Bean after a day in JAX, and noticed they had some new pour over options. Ryan made an excellent pour over with their Colombian bean from the Lizardo Herrera farm, which was one of the best coffee I’ve ever had.
We spoke for a bit since the shop was slow at the time, and he was very knowledgeable. He even shared the recipe and tips since I bought a bag to be able to make it at home since I live 2 hours away.
Update: I made a pour over following Ryan’s recipe and it was absolutely delightful!

I absolutely love Bold Bean Jax Beach & their staff! Natalie is always such a joy to talk to as well as all the other staff, her confidence and personality are such a bright light every time I see her! She recommended me the Malabar Tea and it’s the only thing helping me get over this crud! If you haven’t checked out this shop- you MUST!!!

Best coffee in Jacksonville. The care with which they prepare the coffee will become readily apparent when you take the first sip. If you are in a hurry this is not the place to get coffee
