Went here for brunch with my girls and it was absolutely lovely. Half of us were late and they were so understanding. Service was excellent. Got the eggs Benedict and a cappuccino and it did not disappoint. Prices are wonderful for such a fine establishment with such a cute atmosphere

The one donut I tasted, with white powdered sugar, was good and very soft and fresh!The atmosphere was pretty chill. My drawback was, the friend that I was with, ordered a donut dish (forgot the actual name of the dish), she asked if she could get it on two separate dishes because she wanted to give me half. The waitress said that the dish wasn't able to be split up, so it came out on one dish. When it was time to pay, we got separate checks, half the cost of her donut dish, was on my check. I thought it was strange that she was the one who ordered the dish and it came on one plate, not two like she wanted. I paid without fuss and we still tipped. The waitress was nice and the mimosas were good.

Thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Josephine’s! We had brunch and sat outside. The outside seating area is lovely and the food was delicious. All around A+ restaurant from food to service. We’ll definitely dine here again.

First time at Josephine's and we were amazed! They did an amazing job renovating this place, it definitely gave us a New York vibe. They have a huge bar and you will see it when you enter the restaurant, we were greeted right away which always a good sign. We got sat in in this very comfortable booth, they were originally going to say us at the high top table and I said no and they were very nice to accommodate my request.Food was phenomenal! Husband got the Caesar salad and I had the bread of course of both of them was very tasty! Bread was super soft but yet a little crunch on the outside. Salad was good as well! The dressing was just perfect on the salad and you can tell that it is very fresh. Our main meal was the blank ink pasta which was out of this world and I'm so mad at myself that I forgot to take home my left over and we had another pasta for dinner but I completely forgot the name of it and it's actually a great meal as well. Servjce was extremely good they gave us a complimentary champagne since we were celebrating our Anniversary. I was so impressed at Josephine's that I asked to see their private rooms/banquets so that I can book them for our next event. This place is great for date nights and girl nights and I heard their brunch is pretty good as well! So hopefully we can go back here and try their brunch but for now don't walk! Make your reservations at Josephine's !

This was the second time I have eaten here. The food is top notch amazing. Made from scratch authentic Italian taste. Great atmosphere for a date night with my husband, who is usually pretty picky with food and he LOVED it!

This place is the crown jewel of Avondale. A beautiful space filled with passionate professionals performing at the top of their craft! Our server, Georgia, was lovely and attentive. And the food...the food is breathtaking. Chef Zach Preece and his team, including the talented Chef Thomas White, pour discipline and love into every dish which are steeped in the family history of owner Josh Floyd. This place is special. In a sea of others simply chasing a dollar, this place puts in the work and the results are pure gold. Spectacular work, Team Josephine!! We cannot wait to return!

Dining at Josephine's was an incredible experience from start to finish. Our lovely server, Georgia, was absolutely delightful and very accommodating. The chefs and kitchen staff at Josephine's are doing some incredibly special things here in Avondale. We enjoyed the following dishes, all phenomenal in their unique flavors and beautiful presentations: the sourdough focaccia was light and airey; the cacio e pepe arancini was rich and creamy, and served with a uniquely delicious mushroom ketchup (one of our favorite dishes of the evening!); the panzanella salad was perfect in every way; the Chilean sea bass crudo was light and delicate with bursts of citrus; the white lasagna was rich, creamy, and comforting, while the seared sea scallops special with English peas, confit pearl onions, and pecorino gnocchi were seared perfectly. For dessert, the Meyer lemon tart and tiramisu semifreddo were both artfully plated and incredibly satisfying. Thank you so much to the entire staff at Josephine's for an incredible dining experience! We cannot wait to return again and again.

Love Josephine and been here many times for dinner and brunch. Hilarious to read some of these reviews (they didn't have chicken piccata, calling the owner defensive in his replies to reviews because he communicated back to random people who said the handmade pasta is the worst pasta they've ever had...). That is a professionalism I have to commend. Anyhow, yes it is upscale. The restaurants on the Avondale strip have been terrible for a long time (they were just the same restaurant-- American food with a southern touch, how unique). Finally we get a real restaurant. The drinks are delicious. The focaccia is awesome, yes it's $10 but you know what, it's a bread appetizer. Maybe don't expect an entire loaf of it. You're going out to eat, you shouldn't expect food to be $3.99 because you can get a loaf at Publix (a nod to other idiotic comments in here). Caesar salad is great---the first time I went there I felt it was too anchovy forward, but since then it's been dressed perfectly and the anchovy dialed back. That's exactly what you want with a restaurant, they try things, adjust, listen. The braised beef ravioli and bolognese are my favorites by far. And the meyer lemon tart is my go to dessert. I'd encourage you all to read the 1 star reviews if you have any apprehensions about going here, and understand it is people who think they can treat staff terribly and be treated like kings, think food is too salty (at a scratch italian restaurant), want sides with their lasagna (what?), thought it was too expensive, thought things were bland, and the list goes on. All I can say is...I've had these dishes and they're delicious. Not bland. Not salty. You go to a nice restaurant, they don't give you a heaping plate for you to stuff your face with until you're sick. And they charge you more because they use higher quality ingredients and make things by hand. The sound issue was a very real thing and again, they listened (literally) and dealt with it. I would ask my fellow Jacksonvillians to stop ruining every good thing that happens here because it isn't like the Carraba's they're used to. Sigh. Thank you guys for creating Josephine and looking forward to many more meals here. Cheers!
