“This is one OUTSTANDING hidden gem! The food is so delicious that I was left speechless as to how to describe it! The owner, Celly, is a beautiful person inside and out and her Bodega reflects that. I will most definitely be back as often as possible! No matter where you are in JAX, I highly recommend driving here to try their coffee and have an incredible meal. They are open from 10-3 and are in a little strip mall just off Roosevelt Blvd.“

“We overnighted in Miami and was recommended by our hotel to this place. Boy, was the food outstanding! We each had different entrees. My wife had liver and onions. My father in law had the puerco/roasted pork. And I had the skirt steak or Churrasco with Chimichurri sauce. We started of all having Mamey Batidos...highly recommend! Walking distance from our hotel. Very nice restaurant with extensive menu. And they also serve breakfasts!“

“I recently visited Lola's with a few friends, and we all had burgers. Everyone loved their meal! The burgers were cooked perfectly, and the flavors were spot on. My egg was a little more runny than I usually prefer, but it was still tasty and didn't take away from the overall experience. Our server was exceptional, providing excellent service throughout. I’ll definitely be returning and would highly recommend this spot!“

“This small business hit big, Food is fresh Hot and Flavorful. The lady who attended me was welcoming very attentive and reassuring. She made sure to understand my English even though she only spoke Spanish. I walked up to the food truck told her what I wanted and I had my plate, all in less then 10 minutes. Thank you so much. “Was in Jacksonville for the holidays this year, fun in the sun is an understatement. As usual I had to stop by and do a review so here we go.
Bahama Breeze was huge, a lot of space inside. There was also outside seating available, I was suprised at how many people were out for Christmas Eve but it wasn't full/busy. There were bars both inside and outside that one could choose from, the outside bar was more of a sports bar vibe with TVs to watch sporting events.
Service was decent, I have to be honest and say when I got seated I think they forgot about me. It took about 15 minutes for someone to come and speak to me. It happens, I was kind of hidden in a corner so I don't want to make it a huge thing. My waitress was kind and she got my order out to me quickly after she acknowledged my existence. I got some of my food to-go at the end of my stay and she added more to it before I left, which is always appreciated.
Food was good, I wasn't too thrilled with the flavors of the food. I did not hear anything about the establishment so I came in blind so I was open minded about the experience. A Caribbean place in Jacksonville right? Who knew? Lol! My drink was amazing. I had the King Carnival, highly recommended. One thing I will say is all the food I had was extremely filling, I started with the Chicken Tostones and that almost took me out! Great portions, but again it was lacking in the flavor department. Directly after I had the stuffed plantain bowl, I loved the sound of it on the menu: caramelized sweet plantain, yellow rice, ground beef, alllllllllll the goods. When I had it all together it was just......ok. Again no expectations but I was hoping to get more bang for my buck. I would love to go back and give it another try soon.“
