I give Lubing 3 stars today. The food was good yesterday with exception for the sweetened iced tea. It had way way too much sugar. It was the cold attitude from whom I can tell was a manager. He says well most people do half and half. It was absolutely too sweet. His mannerism was rude. Then a worker behind the counter says to him "I like your tea" which I found disturbing because I was the customer. Lubi's Hot Subs is a unique, locally-owned, fast-casual restaurant that has been a Jacksonville favorite since 1969. This unassuming sandwich shop serves amazing subs, including the Mozzarella Lubi and Mean Machine, at reasonable prices. Place your order at the counter and sit to eat. The service is fast, and employees are happy to accommodate dietary restrictions. The restaurant is kid-friendly with TVs and has a large parking lot with handicap parking. Don't forget to try their sweet tea and cherry limeade, and even take home a jar of their spicy peppers! The decor is much better, though the chairs and tables need an upgrade. Loyal fans love the chili sub and salad on sub, praising Lubi’s recipes that are still amazing after decades.
