My husband and I took a chance on this restaurant because our friends recommend it and our only regret is that we didn't try it out sooner. The owner was so kind, he treated us like family and helped us turn a regular Friday night dinner into a celebration. All our food was really yummy, the sauces were downright drinkable, and the complimentary wine was such a sweet touch! We will be back for sure.

Writing this review about 10 months late, but I still think about the experience I received here. Food was delicious and atmosphere was great. I was celebrating my 21st birthday and the owner was super friendly and kind, he even gave us wine and cake to celebrate. 10/10 and will be coming back next time I visit home.🙂🙂

I wish I could give more than 5 stars for the service and food!
Wow, what an experience. George, the owner was amazing ! So friendly and funny ! Nikki our server was great and really knew the menu well !
The bread was great and fresh.
We had calamari for an appetizer which was amazing perfectly breaded, and the dipping sauce was so delicious. We had lasagna, pasta puttanesca, and veal parmesan! It was all warm, delish and flavorful !
George talked with us like we were family and hung out with us. There was no one in the restaurant while we were there and we had a fabulous time with them ! I can't wait to go back ! He brought us 2 complementary wine bottles as my boyfriend does not drink alcohol so he brought over a bottle of zero alcohol wine as well! So thoughtful!
The restaurant vibe is very early 2000s but to be honest it's also just mom and pop Italian and that's what we all want anyways, like hanging out in your grandmas kitchen

Everytime we come here I am more impressed. The service is excellent, the food is fantastic, and the atmosphere is always welcoming. They offer some of the best in Jax if you are looking for classic Italian food, as well as a fantastic wine list. We loved our visit!

A Hidden Gem in Jacksonville – Primi Piatti is a delight!

My sister and I traveled all the way from California for a quick business trip, and little did we know that one dinner at Primi Piatti would become the highlight of our entire stay. With limited time in Jacksonville, we wanted something special—and boy, did we find it!

From the moment we walked in, we were treated like family. The warmth of the staff, the intimate atmosphere, and the undeniable passion that fills this restaurant made us feel at home instantly. And then came the food… stupendously delicious. Every bite was an explosion of authentic Italian flavors, crafted with love and expertise.

But what truly set Primi Piatti apart was the experience. As the restaurant closed for the night, we were invited to stay and join in an impromptu celebration—dancing, laughter, and pure joy. It felt less like a restaurant and more like a family gathering in the best way possible. The owner? A true gem. You can tell he deeply cares about his guests and has built something truly special.

We’re already dreaming of a return trip to Florida, and honestly, Primi Piatti is at the top of our list of reasons to come back. If you ever find yourself in Jacksonville, do yourself a favor— go. You won’t be disappointed.

Terrrrrible service period! Waiting over 2 and a half hours with kids to eat is insane. CC was overcharged too! Never again. 0 stars! Do not recommend unless you want to be bamboozled!

We are first-time visitors and came in on a whim with no reservations. We were welcomed straight in with a table for 6 with 4 children. The food was delicious and authentic. We had chicken Parmesan, chicken Caesar salad, fettuccine Alfredo, and the angel hair pasta for the kids. We also had the lemon cello cake, tiramisu, and ice cream for dessert, along with cappuccino and espresso. Everything was wonderful. But what made the whole experience was the staff! Our server Nicky was the absolute sweetest and went above and beyond for our every need and was so attentive to our children. The owner George visited us multiple times and asked all about our family. They made us feel like family and we left with smiles on everyone’s faces. We will definitely be going back soon!

Kid-friendliness: When our 3 year old was being cranky and wanted pizza even though it wasn’t on the menu, they made one special for her and sang happy birthday to her with her ice cream because they found out her birthday was next week.

then we waited another 25 for my chicken parmigiana and his veal rosamarino. I will say my chicken parmigiana was edible, and I think he felt the same way. my parmigiana was soggy and unevenly heated, which makes me suspect it was nuked in a microwave, but is concerning for the amount of time that took. My husband's veal plate, you can look at the picture and it speaks for itself. We just ate it because we were so hungry. Overall, it just wasn't restaurant quality, and for an $80+ meal for two after tip this was absolutely a one and never again situation for us.
