Disappointing experience. Food lacked depth and flavor. Noodles lacked flavor, wings were gamey and sauce off. Pork belly was overcooked. Main staff member was friendly. But food missed mark. Some Sauces were empty. Also nit-picky but when bathrooms are used for non bathroom storage it just gives a bad vibe. And the oh so common I can’t be bothered to fix a toilet roll or paper towel dispenser. Small but these details add up.

This isn't just one of the best Asian restaurants in Jacksonville, but one of the best restaurants in Jacksonville period. The atmosphere was both amazingly authentic and welcoming. Ordering is easy and straightforward, and our food -- four separate dishes -- was brought to the table within 10 mins. The food itself was incredible; being Filipino, I like to think I know a thing or two about our cuisine, and I'm happy to say you won't find better in the whole city.

Purple Roots has a really nice aesthetic. I liked the décor with photos of the Philippines, the people, and the culture. Ordering on the kiosk was simple and they bring the food out to you. The presentation was beautiful. I got the lumpia and kare kare and both were really good. The rice was delicious too. Overall, a great stop in Jacksonville.
