Our first time. We heard it was a good place for real Southern cooking. They did not disappoint ? Everything was great. We got there at the tail end of their serving hours and the cook whipped us up some hot, fresh fish, shrimp and fried green tomatoes, way more than we could eat. He then boxed up our huge piles of leftovers to take home! We will definitely be back!

Being from the Mississippi I was looking forward to having real southern food while in Jacksonville. Chef Art was amazing and while the food wasn't bad it just wasn't well seasoned to my liking. While other comments mention it being a hole in the wall he makes up for it with his personality and charm. I'll def go back. The blackened shrimp were amazing and I had some of the best fried green tomatoes I ever ate.

Its a bit difficult to express my interest in this restaurant... its a very loving & homey atmosphere, food was awesome but I found a roach in my water. I gave it another chance & tried again especially after the chef apologized and gave us free meals to return again. Food has always been very appealing and tasty... its just the cleanliness of the place that isn't up to today's standards... but if you can look past that, go try it out for yourself.

This is one you want to check out for sure. Great restaurant and awesome food! We used to visit his other restaurant for probably 20 years. Art is the man! And a great very popular chef. Loved by all!! You will not be disappointed. Make sure to come hungry because the food is plentiful.

The room and atmosphere is sorta dated, but the food is wonderfully prepared with home-cooked flare.

Everything was delicious. Our server Jonnie did such a good job as she had all the tables in our room. Biscuits and apple butter were the best. Good mashed potatoes, pork chop was delicious too and smothered chicken…Everyone working there was cheerful friendly and worked together well. They certainly have it all figured out for excellent food and service and southern hospitality and getting folks in and out with a great dining experience.

It's easy to miss if you don't know what you're looking for. I passed it but quickly made a u-turn and there it was. It looks like a typical older storefront along Old St. Augustine Rd but it's indeed a restaurant, or more appropriately a hole in the wall that serves delicious homestyle cooking. At exactly eleven thirty, I walked inside and was immediately greeted by Chef Art who knew that it was my first time and invited me to sit next to him while he told me about the history of Southern Charm as well as his upbringing. I immediately felt like I was at my uncle's house. I truly felt welcomed. There's not a single fancy thing about this place, it's not pretty or polished but it instantly warmed my soul being here. Myself and the other patrons talked with each other and Chef Art as if we all knew one another. In addition to the Southern Charm, the food: Fresh catfish, shrimp, collard greens, mac n cheese, coleslaw, fried green tomatoes, cornbread, and fresh baked cookies were all delicious and the sweet tea was just right. This is a cash-only establishment, and they only serve tea and water but you can bring your beverage of choice. This was the best experience I've ever paid $15 for. I'll surely be back! Thanks for blessing my soul Chef Art!

Saturday night - all you can eat. Known for "hot shrimp" which is plentiful and delicious. The collards, fried green tomatoes, and cheese grits were 100! The restaurant is very casual and rustic, but food is great. BYOB if you want anything other than sweet / unsweet tea or water. You won't leave hungry.
